Hiding number plate a good idea?

well not too sure if this is an appropriate section to post this thread, mods may move if found wrong..

now i just came across this ad in the used car section: Used Daihatsu Charade 1983 for sale in Karachi - Ad ID: 334768 | PakWheels

to my surprise one of the picture posted in the ad is of my charade that i use to own long ago, while the other one is of another car of same color (don't know if its the real pic of the car being sold).. now the only place where i shared the above image on the internet is here: https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/cool-classic-cars-latest/106286-remembering-charade-g10-1978-1982-a-4#post1878916

most of us tend to hide the registration number of our cars, plenty of members don't do that. considering the above case i believe its better to hide the identity before sharing the pictures on an open forum.. u will never know how and where these images will be re-used...

I personally think we should hide the registration numbers of not just our cars, but also the pictures of others' cars that we share.

It goes both ways actually. Showing plates can help other viewers guide better if they know anything about that particular vehicle. Huzaifa once bought a white Honda City which was owned by a classmate of mine long before him. Had i any info, i could have shared. One member here caught his ex ride being resold with fake info. THAT was a great help for everyone. What say?

i try my best to hide the number plates of the cars i post including my car,u wdnt want random loosers looking up details of the ride every now n then
