A ticket for traffic police chief
ISLAMABAD, April 19: The capital’s traffic police chief was served with a ticket after the vehicle he was traveling in was intercepted by the junior staff Wednesday night for using high beams. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sultan Azam Temuri was heading home after attending a function when two policemen — Azhar and Mushtaq — spotted his official car (GF-639) with its high beams on near the French embassy. Though the junior officials were stunned to see their boss sit ting inside the car, they felt relieved after finding the SSP in a good mood and receiving appreciation for their act. Mr Temuri, when contacted, con firmed that he was served with a ticket carrying a fine of Rs200 and said his driver was at the wheel when the vehicle was signaled down. “Neither me nor my driver showed any resentment on receiving a ticket as I believe nobody is above the law,” he said, adding that “Obviously, it was a genuine case and I appreciated the police staff and gave cash prize to them.” Use of full beams is strictly banned in the federal capi tal, and if charged with violation, the person had to pay a fine of Rs200.
