High Octance-better mileage?

Friends please tell me from your experienceses if High octance gives better kmpl when compared to Super Unleaded?Speccialy talking about these japanese K6A engines.?

High octane has more octane numbers than normal fuel... The more octane level helps better burning of fuel thus gives better milage from less fuel.... Normal fuel dosent burn totally so un burnt fuel decrease the fuel average.

yes it gives increased mileage due to greater octane no. but it's around 145rs/ltr so it won't save u money. plus most of the time when u drive on super after using hi octane, engine gives a knocking sound...

So the solution is mix both of them with a ratio of 50:50. This will not only help you to avoid the knocking sound but also increase the mileage a bit.

Honestly speaking... what i've experienced on my 660CC JDM after using many tanks of only pure High Octane... The only gain was "Performance" wise.. e.g. the initial pickup improved, Mid-range torque improved with a significant change.. and that's pretty much about it.

There was no so called "extra mileage".. instead it was much more costly.

I had issues of knocking with any PSO Petrol I filled it up with... After shifting to Shell Petrol Pump(Shami Rd), Alhamdolillah have never faced any knocking issues.. but yeah there is a feel of power loss as compared to pure High Octane!

So my suggestion is that.. if your moving to High Octane just for a few extra "KM's" at a much much higher cost, its better that you stick to only Petrol or maybe a 60:40 mixture(Although mixtures are never recommended).

I concur with Samialvi.
Hi-Octane does improve the drive, with great pickup, feels like it gives more power to the engine, but only a 2 - 3 % increase in milage, which is not even noticeable.
I have tested 100% Hi-Octane at many times from CALTEX, Shell, TOTAL & PSO on a 2012 City 1300 and 2011 Cultus, but it doesn't make much of difference in mileage as compared to Super, except that it is pretty heavy on the pocket.

However, there is a major difference in fuel mileage experienced on Super from different Fuel companies.
CALTEX & TOTAL give the max mileage, whereas Shell & PSO give 15% less.

It also depends on fuel pumps and the quality of fuel they provide.
Company operated fuel pumps provide better fuel, than privately owned pumps.

I use super + Hioctane (10ltrs with tankful) in my Altis. It does pep up the car.

Importantly, there is noted improvement in average with in the city.

I have driven cars from Bahawalpur to Gilgit on many occasions. The best fuel i found is from the Total Petrol Station in front of Pakarab Fertilizers factory on Kanewal Road in Multan. I filled the tank of a suzuki cultus 2010, drove to Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Chiniot. This makes a total of 450kms, and still there was good amount of fuel left in it. The fuel processed in Pakistan is of real good quality, but the yakky done by the petrol pump owners is questionable. A petrol station owner once told me that we mix urea to increase the density of petrol..............
