The problem is the owners themselves and a constant belief of being ripped off by the manufacturer.
E.g. manufacturer said to use a certain class or type product in some assembly like a gearbox or diff or any other unit like bearing etc, owner instead of using common sense and finding equal class product will happily listen to wrong information from shopkeeper or mechanic (if a deviation is done, it needs to be somewhat proven too)
Like for the longest time toyota filled their cars and trucks diffs with actual industrial grade SAE 90 monograde GL4 oil - (the old fishy smell red oil from idemitsu kossan) this oil is not sold at auto parts stores at all and is terrible for areas with frigid temperatures (the oil acts like cold butter) while its fantastic for warm places.
awaam in pk listen to mechanic to never change the diff oil or fill it with sae140 monograde GL3 oil which acts as butter in summer too. (Very bad idea)
Similarly manufacturer tell to use atf in power steering and awaam will fill something else, manufacturer telling to replace coolant every 5 or 10 years - awaam drains it away in new car because ustaad said so, same with thermostat removal.
Manufacturer telling to not wash engine with high pressure water, you see lines upon lines getting this job done
Just due to legacy thinking and cherishing a practice which was bad in the first place but becomes a romantic nostalgia because seniors did it.
