Hilux Surf 1995-2002

Hey there once again guys!
Some of you might remember my recent topics of a Hilux Tiger search and later a TLC 80.
Sadly Hilux was not recommended by many for comfort and there are literally no good TLC 80 for sale in Lahore with a realistic price.(YES I DON'T FIND IT ALRIGHT TO PAY 2.2 mil for an okay condition SUV, found one at 1.7 mil and that was total painted and literally peeled off interior)
anyways, as @hayzin suggested a while ago that I should get a Surf with a 1KZTE engine.
so looking at fuel, stick to diesel 1KZTE or try petrol? which one would be cheaper to run and to maintain.
anyone can shed some light on:
what price to expect for a clean ride? (Lahore or Islamabad registered preferred)
Maintenance costs?
Parts availability?
Fuel Consumption? (might just become a daily runner, better give me something good enough)
How good is it for occasional off-roading?
that's about it.
the main concern is the fuel consumption and the comfort level, because it would be used as my weekend ride and the ride that I go out with my parents in.
SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCE IN SSR "G", "V", "X" AND "X LIMITED"

I will prefer diesel version with 1KZ-TE

what price to expect for a clean ride? (Lahore or Islamabad registered preferred) (15 lac - 22 lac)
Maintenance costs? (Not much just get all the lubes change at first time then you will be left with only engine oil )
Parts availability? (Parts are easily available & they are cheaper too)
Fuel Consumption? (Depends on your foot in local you will get around 6-8 Km/Ltr & in Long you will get around 9-11 Km/Ltr)
How good is it for occasional off-roading? (Good for light & occasional offroading not for hard core off roading)
that's about it.

According to my knowledge
SSR G is full option with Sunroof
SSR V is petrol version
SSR X is without sunroof
SSR X Limited some minor difference in interior

I was talking to a mechanic and he suggested to go for a Petrol one as the maintenance and engine life is longer on petrol, was he right?
would a 2.7 petrol be equally good as a 3.0 diesel? in terms of power and fuel consumption? I can live with 6-7 km/l in city but should reach 120 on motorway and not kill me with being underpowered.
what fuel average to expect on petrol?
why dont most people on PW recommend that?
anything else you think I might need to know.

All the engines have their own pros and cons. I would suggest to go for a 2.7 3RZ petrol. Very easy maintenance and a better option option for a daily runner. 3.4 5VZ is a kicker but a bit expensive on mileage etc. and yeah 1KZ-TE will put a smile on your face but its a bit expensive on the maintenance side in my opinion. But I am sure if a pro like @demonoid is suggesting to go for a diesel version, there must be a very good reason for it. I am a beginner too

Diesel engines have extremely good life, and are seriously more reliable than there petrol counterparts. But if you can maintain them. 1KZTE is an excellent piece of machine. As already said it will put a smile on your face but you need to maintain it accordingly as well.

i suggest u get at least 99model surf X pearl white, 2.7 l petrol engine perfect made for surf as its a 5 seater, easy to maintain and really comfort ride , why at least 99 , bcoz 99` pearl white interior = brown dashboard with leather seats, gives a luxurious looks , pay good money at least enjoy interior looks as well ...
i myself had one... u will easily get around 19-21 lacks depending on body condition.
