Saw auctioned vehicles available for sale on 26 number Chungi near Tarnol. Condition of some of these was good. Rest you can see with own eyes.

Please try to buy a vehicle that has 5L engine. It has very good fuel efficiency.

I guess these are simple hilux double cabins , not the tiger ones. But insha'Allah I will visit them soon. When is the auction ?

You're right. Only one Tiger, rest were regular Hilux.

A scrappy has bought all of these (a lot basically) from the auction. These are available for sale as individual vehicles for buyers like you and myself. Consider it a car showroom but having already auctioned vehicles.

What would be your suggestion between Hilux Tiger and rkr regarding

* Comfortability
And what will be the range I can get one ?

Hilux Tiger is a much better option. Compared to RKR it is an up model vehicle. Fuel consumption with a 5L engine is really good. It is as rigid as an RKR. Parts availability is not an issue at all with IJP road flooded with complete bodies, engines and other parts. New parts are available from shops at Sadar. Accessories are also abundantly available (bull bars, off road lights, roof racks etc.) Its front seats are more comfortable because of front coil spring suspension. And you can build a cabin on the rear if you have a requirement.

RKR is an old vehicle. You have to rebuild it in most of the cases. Can become a real headache. Parts are expensive. Engine and transmission are too expensive (if you want to swap its 3F petrol with 1HZ diesel). Suspension is stiff with leaf springs. Good for off roading but not so attractive for city driving other than shashka.

In what range one can get a good Hilux Tiger ?

I think it should be between 17 and 20. But it is difficult to say exactly because after every three months you see value of used cars go up due to the revision in prices of new cars.

Exercise caution in buying this vehicle. Thoroughly check the documents, frame etc. Verification from 15 is a must. In case of further doubt, ask the owner to get its lab test done in your presence from Police. Charges are nominal (Rs. 1500 or slightly more). For an auctioned vehicle check its auction voucher. Date of auction should be within the last 2 years, otherwise ETO Islamabad shall not register it.

Well , what is the approximate cost of converting Rkr to JMR shape ?

Approximately Rs. 450,000/- (including bumper, bonnet, lights, grill, fenders)

Dashboard is very expensive and not readily available. It's better to use dashboard of Prado 1kz 95 model. It's upgraded compared to that of 2LT model and RKR.

Is this expense with original parts ? And in how much one can get a rkr ?
I saw some on PW but their demands are too high and they are not ready to negotiate .

An army auctioned soft - top RKR is available for approximately Rs. 700,000/-. But it needs full restoration. If you are planning to do it then only buy a vehicle which is least rusted. These have 3F carburetor petrol engine with 4 speed transmission. But doesn't come with A/C.

Demand of a fully restored soft - top RKR varies depending upon the quality and detailing of restoration work done, the engine swap, and other off - roading accessories.

Hard - top RKR mostly comes with 1PZ diesel engine, which is rare (unlike 1HZ). Its parts availability can become a problem. These are mostly auctioned vehicles from govt departments other than armed forces.

Fiber - glass top mid size RKR is lesser in numbers in the market compared to the hard and soft - top ones. Original engine is 13 BT, if I am correct. It is high powered engine but not high speed. This model is available in different prices depending upon the condition. Just three days ago I saw one whose demand was 1.45 million rupees, but the engine was 3F and its condition was average. Last year someone was asking for 2.2 million for a very good condition vehicle.

Salam Sir , Do you have idea that what is the price of Army Auctioned RKR these days. At that time , I bought a Hilux Vigo Thai so now I am interested in buying an Army Auction RKR for restoration.
If you have any idea , I will be grateful.

Should be around 8. Restoration cost depends upon which engine you use and accessories you fit (like heavy duty bumpers, winch, lift kit etc.)

If frame should be around 8 then why arw people asking 16 plus lacs ? I should go for restoration myself.

On both Pakwheels and olx you will find restored and registered vehicles in price range starting from 1.7 to 1.8 million. And that is just the asking price. Selling price has to be lesser than that.

So what would you prefer ?
Either to go for a one that is restored or to buy a frame and get it restored from chaman you know.
And yes the prices they are asking too much and no one is willing to bargain more than a lac.

Depends upon your time and resources. If you have connections that can source vehicles from Chaman, then it's a good option.

Yes I do have contacts in chamman. I guess it will save a lot of money and will take 3 days maximum to do everything in placing parts from the vehicle from chaman to this frame.
