@symbiote
hp is the engines power and well horse power as the name suggests i sthe power at the wheels, so lets say a car has 200 hp it'll have around 195 whp because till that power trvelas and reaches the wheels it'll have lost some, hope this helps. [/highlight]
Sorry your answer is not right. Hp is what is measured by the dyno on the engine without the engine being installed in the car. WHP is when the power is measured by the dyno frm the wheels of the car, and hence the term Wheel Horse Power.
What is the difference? There is a difference of about 15-20% in FWD and 15-25%RWD and 20-25% AWD Or 4WD cars, this is known as Drivetrain Loss. So keeping your example in mind a 200hp car will have about 160-170whp keeping in mind the 15-20% drivetrain loss, and similarly for the RWD and AWD cars. Why drivetrain loss greater in AWD or RWD is due to rear shaft involved and missing in FWD cars.
