I have a Honda civic exi 2006. I have been facing problem with its front suspension as it produces hollow type noise Dogh Dogh felt near brake or accelerator pedals when car run over uneven road especially in slow speed. I have changed front shocks, shock mountings, ball joints and suspension arms bushings but this sound keep on coming. Some mechanic told me to change kangi with kabli one but I do not want to change it until and unless I am fully convinced. Please advice me that what is the problem with my car and how it can be resolved without changing the entire kangi. Thanks
I'm facing same problem with my civic, most probably its something to do with steering end links.but i'm sure its certainly not the case of ball joints, control arm bushings & shocks.
I have read somewhere that the steering rack and pinion (kangi) has two bushings, one where steering wheel connecting rod attaches and one at the end of rack. I talked to a machinist and he told that these bushings can be changed very easily and it will cost me Rs 600 for bushing plus installation and Rs 500 for removing and refitting of kangi by the mechanic. Do you think these two bushings are the main cause of this noise. However, I got my kangi inner and outer ball ends checked from a mechanic and these are found ok. The only thing left is bushings of rack and pinion which may need changing with new ones. Anyone has an idea about it then please give your comments.
Check your car with some good alignment centre,he will tell you exactly where the problem is.
Its best to take opinion of two different alignment persons, then go to mechanic.
I'm facing the same issue with my Fit Hybrid. Hollow dug dug noise from somewhere near the left wheel. Did you get yours figured? Thanks.
Hello shehyar yes recently I found it out from you tube where it was said that when the inner ends get loose even it has no play inward or outward then this type of sound comes from front suspension. So when I got it checked the inner ends were very loose. So I have repaired the old ends and after eid I will install it and let you know about my final verdict..
Please also guide abt the workshops its whereabouts
It is not very difficult job. You just go to any reasonable local workshop or even machinist (Khuradia) workshop and he will get it checked and repair the ends. It is to be noted that the ends can only be repaired once and next time it will replaced with new ones.
