hey guys
I made a Home Made Engine Control Unit (ECU )using PIC16F876A for EFI Engine. Have a look at this

This ECU has following features:
1) Adjustable Idling Speed.
2) Cold Start feature for better cranking in winters. Just starts in first Attempt.
3) Fully Controllable Ignition Timing (Advance/Retard) no need for Advancer in case of CNG.
4) Injector Duty Cycle is Programmable (Rich/Lean).
5) Cooling FAN can be set at any Temperature.
6) Fuel Pump runs only if Engine is running.
7) One can tune it for racing to extract maximum output from the Engine.
8) It can be set on Economical Mode for Extra Fuel Saving.
9) Engine Maximum RPM can be limited at any set point. To enhance the Engine Life.
10) Injectors can be disabled just by giving one Pulse so there’s no need of Emulator for CNG.

ECU Inputs:
Intake Air Temperature Sensor, Throttle Position Sensor, Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor, O2 Sensor, Oil Pressure Sensor, Knocking Sensor, Coolant Temperature Sensor, CAM position Sensor, Crank Angle Sensor, VVT Feedback Sensor.

ECU Outputs:
3-Fuel Injectors, 3-Ignition Coils, Idling Air Control Valve, VVT Solenoid, Purge Valve, Radiator cooling FAN, Fuel Pump, + RS232 port for Data Monitoring

i know i am digging up an old thread but i need some help.
So we are planning to Formula SAE car for 2016- competition and there are a couple of thing regarding the ECU i need help with.
one of the rule is

[I]The Rules Committee recognizes that there are several ETC (Electronic Throttle Control) systems on the market that do not comply with the letter of the ETC regulations, however they do comply with the intent of the regulations.

For example, IC1.15.2 requires a TPS error of >10% relative to target for 1 second to result in power to be shutdown. For a commercial ETC/ECU system, these may be set at different values and cannot be changed to meet the rule.

[/I]Because of this many teams opt for a programable ecu which costs 6-900dollar and is a pain to wire up.
My question is is there any way we can modify the parameters set in the stock ECU??

Building an ecu from scratch is not going to take less time plus you will have to debut alot. Like for K series engine of honda you get Kpro which is mature product. By the way i didnot understand the exampe given above. What are you running your engine rite now ? i mean which ECU?

to clear the things up
We intend to use the cbr600 engine in a custom made car for a competition.But according to the rules of competition we will not be able to use the stock ecu since from what i know we cant reprogram it.Hence all the teams that i know of buy new programmable ecu which costs around 900dollars.
I wanted to ask if there any possibilty that we can reprogram the ecu according to ou requirements

bravo is there any difference between chipped and reprogrammable ecu ?

I heard obd 1 ecus can be chipped.
