Honda 125 Deluxe Chain problem

Hi,

I have a Honda Deluxe 125. Over the last few months, I could notice a noise from the chain housing when I changed gears, the noise of the chain dragging against the chain cover.

Anyone, it all came to a head yesterday. One of the chain locks broke, luckily I wasn't driving at any speed at the time, I had just started it and put it into first gear, and something popped, and the bike wouldn't move.

Anyway, the GARARIYAN (thie wheels that the chain spins on) are fine, but I need a LOCK (one of the links on the chain) and I have been unable to find them in the correct size.

That aside, I also want to ask, how damaging is it for the chain or garariyan if I drive the motorcycle permanently with the chain cover off? I have seen many internatio nal biles that don't have chain covers, so I was wondering if I could do the same on the deluxe?

My honda cg 125 deluxe had loose chain which was grinding with the chain cover so I removed it. I have seen many superbikes without chain covers. The new Honda CBRs are also without chain cover. Also many expensive modern italian bikes are without chain cover so I think we will be okay.

Use old engine oil to lubricate the chain once in a while. It will be alright.

How long have you been driving your honda cg125 without a chain cover? And did you remove both the bottom and the top half of the chain cover, or just the bottom half of the chain cover?

How long have you been driving your motorcyle with the bottom half of the chain cover removed?

Mirr Sahab, Not that I don't love motorcycles but for daily office use I drive a car. Honda Deluxe was just recreational. The bike has been sitting at home ever since it was purchased in March. Now, in Eid Holidays I plan to take a long tour to Sukkur and back.
