Honda 70 vs chinese brands

why honda cd 70 is better than any other brands like pakhero, metro, sohrab bla bla .... or we r just brand oriented ppl ... as honda is best selling bike... thats y everyone is after it...

Even Honda CD 70 has many quality issues but still quite better than other brands as u mentioned above. As far as pure chinese munufacturer are concern like Lifan, Road Prince their initial stock was quite durable but i m not sure about their current progress.

Guys there have been a thread with the same issue.

In my opinion our local manufactured bikes with chinese spare parts are almost same with a minor difference. If you consider the diff in price of local bikes and honda its hell of a diff. If i were to go for a 70 CC my choice would be Ravi or Pak Hero.

Well i m using CD 70 and almost covered 9000 KM no problems at all even though i m always driving it at 65 kmph to 70 and its goin smoth..

Only thing that is better in honda i feel is the engine and baki sub wohi hai jo normal chinese bikes main hai ya but quality is bit better..

Engine is the main thing a friend bought Pak Hero and i bought honda his oil seals leaked my bike have no probs till now..

u can compare them in all aspects. My friend also got a Pak Hero and after one and half year needed to change timing chain. I told him to get Honda's Timing chain and that did the trick his bike is better than anything. As we all know that our road and weather conditions are very harsh on bikes (excluding Islamabad where roads are a little better) our bikes tend to need more on their make up and maintainance. Getting a 34 K bike (pak hero) and furnishing it with a honda 70 spare parts (when needed) isnt a bad option at all. If i could seel my CD 100 at a reasonable price i would have bought a pak hero.

btw few new chinese bikes are 78cc bikes like HABIB... will be a bit better than 72cc bikes..

thanks buddy .. but one more issue needs to be alrified ... the fuel consumption ... pak hero hardly makes 50km per ltr ... whereas Honda normally covers 60 -64 km/ltr ..... after changing the parts ... will it make the difference ???

Yar the most important factor for fuel consumption is carbuerator. When i was looking for a bike i thought to go for a Pak Hero (due to the shortage of budget) My mechanic said only one thing, since i was converting from a Honda 70 to pak hero he suggested me to change the new PH carb with a new Honda 70 Carb (this change costs 2000 Rs, if u cant sell the origional carb of PH) Still price of PH 34 K and Honda Carb 2 K equals to 36 Ks. this change does miracle to the consumption and pick, speed of PH. Remaining parts need to be changed when they wear away. Like ring piston, clutch plate, its valves and timing chain sort of things will work for a year or two(provided that your bike is used properly) then when a thing isnt working properly u can always go for a honda 70 spare part. Beleive me there will be no difference except the sound of your PH. which will be slightly different from honda. Many friends of mine who own PH boast of max speed of 100 KMPH, never succeded in gaining that speed on my Honda 70.

Of course your honda is a honda, u may well be aware of the fact that after 2000 honda 70 has gone down on its standard, its not like a bike that it used to be in 1990s.
On the other hand their competitors have improved considerably so both these things are having inverse proportion.

My point is that the diff in the prices of both is almost 18 Ks, if you think that you are getting the worth of 18 k sorry sir its not the case.

there is obviously difference in both rides, but with a lot of spare parts available and a lot of mechanics have become master of 70s, getting something repaired is not a big deal.

This repair issue is also useless thing to consider for a person like u,,, the way u use ur bike (like u mentioned in ur post) if you get a pak hero you will also be getting the same results. When mis used everything will turn into a piece of junk. So conclusion is that if someone is going to take care of his bike no matter what the company is he will get a good ride for longer time, not used properly anything might break down.

So pa g honda no chaddo te agay di soocho.

My cousin also has a honda 125 1992 model and you wont believe he has got its engine done only once. But if we say that CG 125 has still the same quality this will be blunder of the century. (my cousins is selling his honda and going to purchase a Suzuki GS 150 not a CG 125 again coz its nothing sort of a thing compared to GS) its the time that we go for a change.

honda has reduced its quality level,no doubt but still its quality level is higher than other 70cc makers,its vendors are providing it better & high quality parts,but other 70cc makers have a cost-reduction strategy,thatswhy their product has less price with low quality.

when something is cheaper it is understood that it is supposed to be a low quality thing. But the problem is that when we pay a lot more and do not get its worth, i mentioned earlier first model of PH was nothing sort of a bike but they improved their new model a lot. while on the other hand our beloved honda is going down. they are just earning money now.

Well i beleive u cant compare honda's bike to some local bike and yes i was also in favour of some chinese bike but in the end my friend convinced me in buying honda and another friend bought PAKHero and leme tell u my bike had no probs at all and he have so many issues goin on so my sugestion is even though honda might have decreased the quality of its CD 70 but its still far better than other local bikes..

If you dun have the money to buy honda ya go for any other local brand...

as far as i know you (from your posts) if you had purchased a PH Ravi or anything, 200 % chances that you would have been doing the same with your bike and getting the same result. There is nothing special with Honda its the care and usage. You would have seen all kinds of bikes abused in all possible ways and in the worst conditions possible.

My point is that honda may be or may not be slightly better than others, its proper usuage of the machine that make it perfect and joy to ride.

Well Adil you are right that if u run it nicely the machine last long but here we are comparing two different engines and if you open the Chinese bike engine of even the Magnet side of the engine and compare it with Honda u will see the made of Honda is like a lot better than the chinese one..

Before buying honda i went to every chinese bike maker i talked to like 30 owners of these bikes and almost all of them told me one thing if you hve money go for honda if you dun phir la lo..

So the thing is if you are lucky u might find a chinese bike running fine for years..

Waisa when i searched the market i liked Toyo 70 even though its a unknown brand but users were very happy with it..
Also Sohrab is very good..
