Honda accord 1986

Please guide me should i go for honda accord 1986 having following specs;

Engine 1.8cc, CNG Fitted
Colour Maroon
Condition: Normal
Lhr Reg

Pl also suggest its price

or simply i should go for Santro 2003-4

keeping in view power, stability ans running cost as well.

The vehicle you go for will depend on your use, whether it's being used as ur personal car, with just you driving it, or if it's being used as a family car.

In terms of maintenance costs, the parts availability for the old Accord is going to be difficult for more tricky parts such as alternator, clutch etc etc. Service parts, air/fuel/oil filters will be no problem but will be far dearer than a Santro.

Also have the vehicle checked by a good mechanic, with an old accord you can expect electrics and suspension problems both of which are fairly common.

Other parts for the old Accord are going to be very expensive and difficult to find such as genuine mirrors, mirror shrouds, bumpers, headlights etc etc.

thanks for sharing your experience and views.
yes sure i want to use it as personal as well as family car specially for long drives.

Currently i am using Swift 1989 which is completely trouble free and very low running cost.

just want to know that how frequent accord needs repairs of mechanical / electrical etc and what will be its runing cost.

Its AC, Drive is perfect but give quite noise of engine while driving. rest other is fine

A friend of mine has this 1986 sine last 8 years n he is quite satisfied with it but he loves old cars.

what you suggest.

i thin price shud be between RS150000-225000(accord) and i think u shud go for santro but if u like to go to mecahnics regularly go for accord no i'm not joking

If you could find a well maintained and clean accord then go for it. But be warned that it is a 20 years old car and parts are expensive.

No experience about santro but have heard that parts are expensive. But being a newer model and small car less maintenance is expected.

Comparing santro with accord's ride and comfort is like comparing apples with oranges. Even an average accord will be lot comfortable then a new santro.

I fully agree with you. accord is more comfortable then Santro.

My comparison is keeping them in little bit same price range but considering their running and maintenance cost besides parts and others.

One friend given his comments, if you want to visit mechanics regularly, then go for accord.

Waht other options are, keeping all above in view, n having price range of 400 to 450K.

u can go for baleno honda city of 98 margalla plus
i have a nargallah 94 its really in bad shape but its still running well
go for margallah plus i think the best in price range

and one more thing margallah running cost is very low plus its runs really good on cng beleive me we touched 180 on cng in my margallah on M2 but dont drive fast its dangerous

Considering the fact that you are mature and thus have responsibilities I presume, you wouldn't want to spend your quality time with mechanics! Saad_q has given solid advice as well. Considering the fact that you are looking for a Honda, try to opt for a 95 civic or a 98 city. These are newer with readily available spare parts. Bottom line: Go for the 95 civic, I have always liked that model. But ensure that the condition is superb even if it means you need to stretch your budget a little bit. Hope this helps. Regards.

I own a Accord 3rd Gen (1988) and i m very satisfied with it...yeah u have to go to mechanic for routine checkups.
Maintenance also depends on condition of the car. Some parts are too expensive and some parts are cheap too..
You should go for santro ..my friend has 05 santro and its the most reliable car i have ever seen. 3 times involved in an accident but still beats my other friends santro. Oil is changed after 6 months.....just imagine:P
Honda Civic 95,Accord and other cars are same ..they have better drive but needs care...
If u find Accord/civic less than 100k driven than go for it. Otherwise Santro.

my vote still goes for margallah but its ur choice civic 95 is not bad to be honest i'm changing my margallah for 99 or 2000 civic soon but go for plus margallah its newer old cars will give u pain mine is 94
