Honda accord cl9

Hey guys... im interested in an accord cl9 very close to finalising a deal.

Its a 2005 model CL9 Tiptronic tansmission accord with t.v navigation but no camera or dvd.

My question is.. is it a fair price? the accord is pure scratchless and is in a very very good condition. im getting it for 20 lacs. The thing is I dont understand WHY the meter is 180 km/hr when the car has a 2.4 L engine.. it should go more than a BMW which has a 2000 CC engine and goes to a maximum of 250 km/hr.. talkin about a 530I bmw....

Please tell me why a 2400 CC ACCORD has a 180 km meter when even a civic has a 240 spedometer.

Also i'd like to ask you what I should check before purchasing this car? anythin i need to knw apart from the engine (which a mechanic would survery ofcourse) your help would be really appreciated people!.. thanks

The speedo is limited because as per Japanese law, all locally(japan) assembled are restricted to a limit of 180 km/hr.

You should have a look at the auction sheet and try to get it verified. The price seems ok, a little on the higher side but I dont think its tooo high!

most cars in japan have their speedo meter till 180 km/h, weather if its a cygnus or a prado or accord.

dude..its a japanese car..all japanese cars have meters limited upto 180..and they r limited to maximum of about 190km/hr..they dunt go more..
even if u get a japanese supra or 350z..its same..
but u can get this thing removed..if u r in isb..try going to hpr...

dude..the car iz way overpriced..i believe..an uncle of mine who haz a showroom..bought a cl9..isb registered..for 13.5 laks..
although the car had less options..and a hardtop..but it had trip tronic and stuff..

im gettin an accord from the same showroom same shape for 16.5 lacs but its a 2002 model..

it all depends on the year and the condition.. since its a 2005 model with mint condition its bound to be above 19 lacs...

nyhow i knw wht ure talkin abt.. a SLD speed limit defencer which supposedly removes the limit set by the country etc.. but still i mean even if i do get it installed the original meter would only have the max speed upto 180... who on earth would spoil such a beauty by limiting it.. dont japan have lambhorghinis etc? damn those yenners...

dont tell me that im gonna pay 20 lacs for just the looks.. even a khyber or LIANA can beat this accord if its all about 180 km.hr.. i mean if its just the looks then i can put these looks on a khyber for less than 5 lacs... its a real shame.. does n e 1 knw if there are imports from elsewhere and not from japan?

you can remove the top speed limiter....and than see the REAL power of 2.5 V6

who wants a liana.. i was comparing the both for obvious reasons of liana and khybers meter both being more than that of accord.

you dont get my point. even if i do remove the limit. how will i know my speed above 180 km/hr? it doesnt have a digital meter it would giv me a speed till 180 n then i dont knw wht speed im goin at...

btw cl9 accord is 2.4 not 2.5 to correct the above posts...

& stop comparing Liana vs corolla vs civic to accord
its a different class

you can always find a road to race around.. the drag races that take place in pakistan reach a top speed of upto250.. why do people have nitros in their cars if the roads are bad? you're basing your conclusions on a pointless topic. when you wanna race you can always find a road to even do a 300.. you dont have to go racing on the mall road or in the galis.. knw wht i mean? if that was the case we wouldnt have showrooms of Mercedes and porsche boxters... those people aren't stupid to launch their showrooms in pakistan with such roads.. so the next time get ur facts right and then come along replying to threads..

i bought a cl7 one month ago in also excellent condition but infact all you see is not gold my friend. i had to do the following things.
_front disc pads, 12000
_rear disc pads i ordered from USA, i got them cheap from there. 6000
_link assemblies are 13000 per piece here i got both for 16000 from USA. Acura TSX is the same thingi.
_front bushes, 4000
_fuel filter 6000
_denso plugs 5000
_i had to waite for 2 days to get a silly crank oil seal for 2500
_gear oil.
_motor oil
_filters.
_AEM V2 intake ordered from HPR for 27000
_grounding wires, 2500
_rims and tyres, 17 inch with 225-55 R17 for 55000

i am not saying you have to do the same things on the car u get but my advice is to be a bit mindful about these things, u cant see these things on the surface of it. if you say i can give u the mechanics phone number and you can talk to him with my reference.
