Honda Brake Pad change - Help Required

Hello,

I have a Honda City Vario 2008. Now driven 52k. I am looking for a brake pad change. Honda Point gave me a quote of Rs 5,600 +400 labor for genuine honda brakes.

Whereas a single market inquiry (Waris Road) told me that non-dealer 'genuine' brakes are for Rs. 2,000 while 'japani' brake pads are for Rs. 850. As per the shop owner, these 'genuine' brakes are same thing, manufactured by the same and just not come in the khaki dabba packing and stamped by Honda.

Is there really any difference between the non-dealer and dealer brakes. I know that 3S dealers charge a lot for the name.

Any expereinces? where to buy?

what i would suggest is to go to mondgomery road n get original brake pads from there for a v less price
thats wt i did,toyota was quoting me 7k i think n i got the pads front n rear original ones for 5.5k

there isnt much difference in dealer and non-dealer pads as i ve experienced. go for the best quality open market parts n they ll work well.

JZ replied well, and thats what i did too yesterday for camry's brake pads. toyota people were asking 11,800 for front + rear pads, 1500 service charges. What i did, went to kamal autos at mintgomery road and bought genuine toyota brake pads for 8300, paid 1500 service charges to toyota sahara and got my work done perfectly! in the end i had to pay 3500 less

sure go for the open market ones........!
i also have a city and used to have the pads changed from honda people but it was crap and now i am using ASUKI brakepads and they are performing excellent mashALLAH........!!

Nisin brake pads are good.

Just buy them ... and get them fitted. Should cost you no more than 3000 for all 4 pads and 500 for the labour + service.
