Honda CD125 Benly 1984 Model in UK

Hi,

The rims on my bike are very Rusty. These rims are 17 inches.

Can I buy it in Pakistan? I am hoping that CG 125 rims can be used as a replacement
or if anyone knows?

The rims on my bike are very rusty? Can I rather get them refurbished?

My bike looks like this

HONDA CD/CB 125 BENLY , TWIN , VERY GOOD CONDITION , LOW MILEAGE.

I think it is called roadmaster in Pakistan, but mine is 125 cc.

Thanks Archon, can I not use original Honda made CG125 wheels if size is right?
Let me share technical details:
Rim size both back and front: 17 inch
Tyre: 3.00
Hub size on both of them are same: about 8.5 inches.
Bike has same drum brakes with brake shoe like in CG 125.

I was thinking if it's same then I can replace both the wheels and it will be easy since I can get wheels all ready with bearings, brakes, chain sprocket etc. you know get the wheel all ready and simply put it on bike? but it all depends if size is right.

Can you see if this can be the case?

The issue is Hub if the hub from a different bike can be installed on another bike? and if it can be then what needs t be looked at to decide the right fit. I have seen pictures where people have installed disc brakes on these bikes, so yeah it is an option but how do you know which donor bike hub to be selected to go on receiver bike?

I think I have to discard the idea of using cg wheels as there is more to it than mere hub size.

I found on another forum that axle size, back and front sprocket alignment, width of swing arms and forks and much more to take into account for chaiging the wheel if it's to be done correctly considering both mechanical and technical requirements.

I am thinking to refurbish my wheels but here in UK it is not cheap.

If i bring wheels to Pakistan on my next tour, how much would it cost to get them re chromed? get the spokes to be re done for wheels to be straight? and to install new brake shoes and bearings. I will bring the bearings and brake shoe with me. Just someone to do re-chrome rims and polish/paint hubs and minor jobs like bearing installation etc.

i thinmk for good chrome on hub will cost 1000pkr and other fattings like bearings spokes can be done in 250pkr/per hub+spokes =750pkrx2= 2000 in replacing spokes and other fittings and about sleve the inner side of hub what you gonna do about it ? . and im talking rates of lahore Pakistan. inshallah will be accurate
