Dear PakWheelars,
AoA, I hope everyone is fine. I'm new to PakWheels and so far seen various useful threads regarding cars and bikes. I live and work in Canada but these days am on vacations in Pakistan to explore its Natural Beauty once again!!! Yes I explored almost all of Northern Pakistan before, but this time I'm riding a bike.
I have a Honda CG-125 Euro II- 2013 Model and on my first bike trip, which was from Abbottabad to Murree via Nathiagali and Ayubia, it behaved like a plane. It was EID-al-Fitar and with two riders including myself, there was no other bike or car that could've actually passed us.
Because of that joyful trip I decided to ride on my bike to Babusar Top, but this time I came up with a few Problems. As soon as we crossed balakot, the bike started to lose Power and Pick. It was also missing. It would only climb those uphill roads in first gear and as soon as I change gear to 2nd, it would again lose both pick and power. Clutch plate became hot and produced that typical burning smell. Because of constantly running it in first gear on high RPMs (over 6000), I guess it got overheated and some Mobil Oil leaked from the top of the engine cylinder or the tappets. I noticed that only the next morning. Was that really overheating?
However, as soon as we came back to Balakot, bike was again lively and as before. With two riders, I could actually go beyond 100 Kmph on Balakot-Mansehra route. It behaves alright within abbottabad as well.
Also, whenever I release clutch in first gear and bike starts to move, a thuk thuk sound comes from gear box or clutch box. This problem is right there whenever I want to pick the bike in second gear after crossing a road jump with a pillion rider.
I've visited local Honda Service Centre and other experienced mechanics here in Abbottabad and everyone had a different opinion. Some said it's typical Euro II problem, others told t was a lack of oxygen pblm, a few said CDI unit and Ignition Timing Pblm, one diagnosed there was something wrong in my driving style. But not even a single mechanic could help me find the underlying cause for this problem.
I request suggestions from experienced users of Honda Euro II models in Hilly terrains regarding this problem.
Please note that, bike is well maintained and looked after.
