once again, thanks to @rollaonbigmama... he pushed me to paint this small left over piece that i didnt do in the first time.. took hardly 15mins today and now each n every silver panel inside the car matches perfectly (H)

Masked the gear knob using masking tape and some of my old study notes :P

the final result pic is kinda blurry.. i'd take a new pic in the morning and will post it here... the finish is very smooth, not rough at all as it seems to be in the pic...

emmmm... as for the silver rings, im not sure! the whole upper panel might have to be take off but the silver rings themselves cannot be separated i think. and even if they could be, i think its a different sort of piece.it looks like a "printed" one... not painted one, plus we have the numbers, red n blue lines etc printed on them so we cant paint them so easily! urs are black and u want them to be silver, right?

bro u didnt get my point.. i mean the silver rings around the rpmmeter and the speedometer. they look bad and dirty. tried cleaning them but no use...

u thought i meant the rings around the interior climate controls... hehehe...

Aw hell!! I think im drinking a bit tooo much these days first i mistook ur userid and then the ring thing
i never really read ur userid properly n the avatar showed a corolla earlier on, so i always used to read it as "rolla on big mama" always wondered what that meant hehehe

anyways, those rings around instrument cluster... hhhmmmm... i ll try to find out how they can be taken off... btw, my cars' ones are perfect... i mean that area is not touched a lot, how did u manage to get them scratched?

as for the cluster itself, usman bhai (vague_one) said u gotta open a whole LOT of stuff to get access to the place u ll have to start from just above ur clutch-brake-race pedal area, slowly opening things up towards the cluster... i might try it sum day but im too afraid to screw the speedometer ... i busted the speedometer of my khyber while cleaning it though it was cable operated i guess.
as for STP, isnt it oily? if yes, it would wreck havoc with in a few days after cleaning it... dust would start to stick to it! what do u say?

I resprayed the front door handle silver panels. they had cracks in the paint probably due to sun and heavy usage. The rear ones are as gud as new and the console is also fine. here are some pix from last night. i have the BEFORE pix too but they are in another cam that i dont with me right now. will post them later (thats stupid but, still :))

The process was same. sanding, a coat of silver paint x 3 times and placed in front of heater after every coat for 5 min, then 3 coats of clear coat, again, curing them with heat after every coat.

After fitting them back (2am last night) and a shot of the last year's paint on console. its holding up quite well...

color is certainly not same but it doesnt matter when u paint all the silver panels. u dont have panels with 2 different colors. professional painters can do a better job at paint but the way they rudely open up the panels n everything, makes me wanna keep them away. n secondly, i love working on my car... so...

today like most of the ppl i was free as well so i though y not do something constructive so i decided to CF my console
via this thread i opened my console and then did this CF wrapping by my self. i chose silver color cuz i thought that it might keep it in origional look

use simple hair dryer to bend the CF sheet at bending area, u can see it in one pic guy in the market was asking me 1200 rs for this and i did this in 70Rs
