Honda city 1.3 basic vs Honda city 1.5 basic

Honda has just launched a basic version of city 1.5 manual (not aspire) for which delivery period is just 1 month and it is 50K expensive from 1.3 basic.
So i am thinking to buy 1.5 basic.
I need suggestions from real users.
1- what will be resale of 1.5 in comparison with 1.3?
2- Fuel economy?
3- I have heard there is some torque issue in 1.5?
4- Which one is the best considering all above options

1.5 has a very good engine, good pick up, ideal for Mountain Regions Journey.....or carrying 5 people in car.......where you need power.........also Internationally 1.5 is being sold , only in Pakistan 1.3 is being used, today i asked my mechanic about 1.5 or 1.3 ?? He said, 1.5 is awesome, u would enjoy its ride....but Q is about Fuel Avg ???????? hopefully not much difference 1.5 / 1.3......................... have also Checked About Excise Website About Tax on Registration..........1300-1500 CC.....Same Tax Bracket.............. so, i think go for 1.5 and enjoy the powerful ride.......................

1.5 has near identical fuel economy as the 1.3, both get 11-13 in city with sensible driving, where as resale is considered, both have atrocious resale values, but I.e if you sale within 3 years, after that car doesn't loose value that fast, after 5 years of ownership it 1.5 and 1.3 both will fetch decent values provided you've maintained the engine

I have got exact same questions in my mind as well. Imo fuel economy willl be approximately same, 1.5 will give more driving pleasure though. Still confused bout resale thing but i guess it will fetch good money in the end, provided kept with care.

Go for 1.5 and i think, 1.5 will have better resale than 1.3 because, 1.3 now have the same taxes.

But why there is a delay in 1.3 booking and not in 1.5?

It’s because of our awam mentality ke 1.3 hai aur kum petrol khati hai.

1.5 does 2km/l less than 1.3 in the city. If fuel efficiency and resale is not huge concern, go for 1.5 and enjoy the powerful drive.

i had send honda a suggestion to make 800cc city as people are concerned with fuel avg.....

bro get 1.3 and change engine of cultus....you will get best milleage

Go for 1.5. You will feel it when you drive it. Consumption sometimes does't matter. and 1-2 km/l does't matter at all.

I have recently purchased Honda city 1.5 basic @ 1667000 with fog lights....and have paid Rs.45600 as registeration charges for ICT...to Honda Avenue, islamabad. They get the vehicle registered in just 30 minutes.
I have personally observed the millage of 17 km on long and 14 to 15km/l in city with AC...by top up the fuel tank...
It is far better than Gli and Honda city 1.3...
I have also used city 1.3 but now I stongly recommend city 1.5...

I had a 1.3 manual basic for 8 years it has good amount of power and was economical 12.5-13 kmpl in city and about 15kmpl on highway, A friend recentyl bought 1.5 Aspire and i have driven it couple of times on local route and on highway to what my observation it gives 7.5-8 kmpl in city and 11-12 on highway.

**Both of the vehicles were properly maintained no issues driven in Hyderabad City and long route was HYD-KHI Motorway with Air Con switched ON all the time.

Personally i like the 1.5 manual its very responsive but at the same time it feels very heavy and stiff on the other hand Honda city 1.3 basic used to feel very light not that responsive though.
Recently i bought a 1.3 Aspire Prosmatec ( gives 8.5-9 kmpl in city and 10.5-11 kmpl on long routes) and it feels light too as compared to my friend's 1.5 Aspire manual both have same tires Dunlop Lemans 702 (195/65r15)

A friend has 1.5 manual city and it gives him 12-12.5kmpl with AC in Lahore.
It has more or less the same average as compared to 1.3.

I have Aspire 1.5 MT and it is giving me around 12kmpl in Lahore and on Motorway at speed of 120-130 it gives 15kmpl

There must be something wrong, too much idling on AC ON or more active or aggressive biased driving habit other wise the city 1.3 and 1.5 Manual gives the same consumption in city i.e. 12 -14km/L in city AC ON / OFF included without excessive idling and highway 15 to 19 km/L depending upon your driving style. This doesnt include hypermiling....It is with normal driving style.

I kept 2012 city and drove it 94000km with nobody ever seated on driving seat conservatively except myself......

You are giving data of 1.5 and 1.3 Auto tranes correctly. i.e. 8 to 10 km/L city and 10 to 13km/L highway.

If somebody is going for City.....Its best to go for 1.5 MT or Auto ....eyes closed keeping in view my experience with 1.3 City(Although it is very nice trouble free and lighter than a GLI / Xli and more fun to drive).

and go for the only Tyre up size i.e. 195/ 60R-15.....MAJORITY IS GOING FOR 65 which makes a lot of bouncing effect and alters ride quality and out of stock tyre upgrade limit 2.5% as per tyre upsize calculators.

Honda City 2009 1.3 M/T Base grade ( March 2009 - August 2017)
Honda City 2009 1.3 A/T Base grade (July 2017-September 2017)
Honda City 1.3 Aspire Prosmatec (October 2017- Present)
Honda City 1.5 Aspire Prosmatec is my friend's vehicle which i have driven alot of times.

**I drive with a light foot mostly below 2,500 rpms.
