Honda city 1.3 i-VTEC 2017 immobilizer issue

I've bought a used Honda city 1.3 i-VTEC 2017 few months ago.
1st owner gave me both keys with a black coloured pouch(immobilizer) as a key chain with them.
He told me that you must have this black pouch attached with the key while starting the car. If this immobilizer pouch will not attached to key the car won't start.
Today i removed that immobilizer pouch from the key and took it to a distance of almost 10-12 meters then inserted the key and satrted the car. Surprisingly car started and there was no problem regarding that immobilizer pouch.
Can any tell me what's the reason for this start up without immobilizer pouch?
Im worried about that and need help.

Its quite surprising, and it affirms that the immobilizer system in Honda City is just "Na'am Nehad", and is not effective.

Do not trust it 100%, and also have some other means for the security of your car like steering wheel lock, race / brakes lock, etc.

I don't want to discourage you but this is one of the reasons that City is the worst possible choice to get from your hard-earned money. It lacks airbags, a rubbish immobilizer system, and the list goes on.

For now, it is advisable to use additional means of security in your City like steering lock or chor switch, etc. to be safer.

I am using the 1st type of steering lock since I have started owning cars, and it works fine.

Strange. Mine 2018 never started without immobilizer pouch.
