Honda City 1.3 ivtec Wheel Bearing

As Salam O Alekum everyone,

I am looking to replace the front wheel bearings of my Honda City 1.3 ivtec 2017 model.

Consulted the Honda Quaideen, where the labour cost is 4000/- for each wheel which is too high.

I am looking for any local workshop where cup and receiver with powerscrew or atleast hydraulic press is used to dismantle the old one and to install the new bearings. Any recommendations please.

As normally the mechanic hammers out the old one and install the new bearing which bents and damages the spandle.

you can visit any suspension shop and instruct him not to hammer it as it will dislocate all the tiny ball bearings inside. best is that the shop (having hydraulic press) is located in a big auto market where lathe machine shop also exists otherwise the mechanic will always save his time and energy by hammering it in. if you can go to mukka chowk area, call Nadeem 03452089153 with my reference (Abid Liana/Baleno), he have worked satisfactorily in all my previous cars (including wheel bearing jobs).

I have gone through this process. Honda has a problem while replacing wheel bearing. It has ABS sensors behind wheel bearings. While pressing wheel bearing, the mechanic ends up screwing sensor. Your ABS will work continuously. I have done this two times and in both times, I had to purchase complete hub assembly.
I will suggest you to go and buy kabli hub. It will have genuine bearing pressed by company itself. Local mechanics can't do this job. I have gone through this two times. Regards

The bearing with the built in tone wheel in the wheel bearing needs to be checked first.

Then the whole thing presssed out and in with a hydraulic press of cup and reciever setup,

Ive replaced hundreds of them, its not an issue as you make it,

Sir I have shared my own experience. While, you have pressed/replaced bearings yourself, we get these jobs done by ustaads. I suffered from same lose for two times. SO, I believe that instead of replacing/pressing bearing, one should go for complete hub assembly. total peace of mind.

afzaal autos has a hydraulic press. visit him and insist on using the press

why not hire the services of a real workshop? - before installing the bearing I (we in workshops) use a magnetic visual card to see the poles on the seal to make sure its good to use (even new bearings can be bad and I have experienced dozens of them)

Once its confirmed good - the spindle get puts on a press or I use the cup and receiver jackscrew setup - with a basic depth gauge to set it in place with the right orientation

And next time your ustaad damages something on his own fault, make him pay for the part, you will automatically filter out the idiots from the pros.

Sir, where in Karachi are real workshop available? Here cup recevier jackscrew setup is not available, how can I expect magnetic visual card technique?

If you know any workshop in Karachi, please recommend.

had to look this up to add to my knowledge... used to working with old school bearing / non abs cars..

pretty sure 99% of our mechanics here wont have the foggiest idea about this and proceed to damage the magnetic seal...

What you are saying isnt isolated to Pk, it happens a lot here too. Mostly DIY stupidity, sometimes at shops too, but in all cases of shop, they have to eat the cost of the bearing.

And hammering on the bearing or pressing its seal in or installing it backwards is a sure fire way to damage the poles.
