Honda city 1.5 i-vtec 2020 engine oil recommendation

Assalamoalaikum.
I have a honda city 1.5 2020 model. I am confused about its oil change because the thinnest oil owners manual recommends is 0W30 and most of new cars are using 0W20 now and honda dealership also doesn't have 0W30 grade so they put 5W30 instead. I don't want to use 5W30 due to fuel consumption and 0W30 is hard to find specially in my city (Hyderabad). Please tell me can I switch to 0W20 for this model. Has anyone used 0W20 in this engine model? Or should I stick with owners manual and use 0W30 ?Uploading...

5W-30 is perfectly fine. In Hyderabad temperatures, you don't need a 0W oil.

Yes IK but thin oil results in better fuel economy. I also have Toyota vitz, I use 0W20 in it because its manual recommends only 0W20 and no other grade oil. But Honda city manual recommends 4 oils for all temperatures. 0W30, 5W30, 10W30, 10W40. I always use thinnest recommended oil for best fuel efficiency. But in this case 0W30 is hard to find thats why I am asking that can I use 0W20 which is thinner than least recommended oil, will it be safe or should I not go lower than 0W30 ?

The viscosity of 0W-30, 5W-30, and 10W-30 at operating temperature are within the same range, i.e. a 30 grade oil. They are effectively the same "thickness" when they are hot. You will not see a significant difference in fuel economy, least of all in your climate.

You go below the manufacturer's specified oil viscosity at your own risk. Especially without any knowledge or measurement of operating oil pressures.

I live in Karachi. Own a 2016 manual ivtec manual. Have done 6 oil changes since i bought the car and always tried different brands and grades (including Mobil 10w40, Honda 5w30 SP, Guard 5w20 0w30). The best engine oil for this vehicle in terms of fuel efficiency i found was Total Quartz 9000 5w30 with good oil filter and oily air filter. I threw it after 6000km as it runs in congested city on a daily basis. The thing you need to make sure is that oil is genuine as almost all market is filled with fake repacked reprocessed oils.

I have used 5w30 also. Performance is more or less same in both 0W30 & 5W30 but I always opt for thinnest recommended grade in owners manual.
