Dear Experts,
An urgent advice required, My Honda city 2004 manual transmission making humming sound, i got it checked with my mechanic and he said it has a bearing inside which has been broken due to which its making this noise on all 5 gears. he guarantee that its coming from the bearing inside the gear box, once you change the bearings it will be fixed.
Now i need an advice that is it recommended to get your gear box repaired? or should i get a replacement?. since the roughly amount he told me would not exceed 8,000 rs. but if i go for a replacement it would probably charge me way more than triple of what i would for the repair of my gear box. He said it is not a major problem according to him and repair should be done rather than go for the whole new gear box which would cost me more.
I am a bit scared of what if he repairs it and the noise start coming again after some time, although he is saying he is going to give me written guarantee that it will be solved once the bearing will be changed.
Please advice. And also, if you guys know any good Gear box mechanic who I can go to.
