Honda City 2005 loses all accelaration when AC is turned on

Hello Guys, I recently just bought a Honda city 2004 model, with 150000 Km on the engine, The car is working fine on normal usage, but during my drive if I turn on the A\C even at low speed (2) the engine acceleration just drops. Even if i push the pedal to the floor the car is not accelerating. Can any one guide to trouble shooting the problem.

Overfilled ac gas and bad ac compressor can cause this issue.

Is there any way to check at home before going to the mechanic because if I go to the mechanic he will open up 10 unnecessary things seeing that I am kot expereienced in thesetype of things

No you have to take it to a good shop that deal in cars AC only.
