Hey guys,
Facing some strange issue with my Honda City 2009. A few weeks back when I got my engine oil changed ( + a regular check up) my mechanic suggested that I should get the radiator and the reservoir bottle flushed because it had some rust and the water got a little contaminated.
So after the flush, everything worked fine but then after every week or so I end up topping up the reservoir bottle with at least half a liter of water. The water level drops even below the minimum level mark in the bottle. My car never had any issues and never used to drop even a single drop of water ever. It is only the reserve water bottle that needs to be filled up and is reducing the water. I am not sure why this is happening and also I can't see any sort of leak. At times when the bottle gets empty, I can also hear sounds from the left side of my radiator as if the water is boiling. I guess the radiator is creating pressure or perhaps the engine is heating up, not sure at all.
So far I never got any sort of indication of overheating. The car runs smoothly. Car exhaust not releasing white smoke or abnormal water vapor. There are no bubbles in radiator water.
The water reduces every after a week or 10 days or so and then I refill the reservoir bottle to the max. Then I again I don't hear any boiling sounds from the radiator.
I am confused and a bit worried because the water might be leaking into the engine? Any ideas what it could be?
