Honda City 2010 ~ 2011 Pick & Knocking Issue

I wish some one who is a high official in Honda Pakistan is reading this thread.Cz this really is creating bad image of Honda.Cz bottom line is that customers are not satisfied.
I think people who have not yet spoiled the warranty of car should go to consumer court and file a case and get satisfaction that way.

Two of my friends bought new city both are dissapointed. Not only the car lacks power even on petrol the a/c performance is also not upto the mark.

If Honda is not serious in solving these problems and only giving lame excuses to its customer than soon we will see city as a new Liana :)...

brother to my advice use high octane as you have used before and do grounding. i did grounding on my city 2010 and even without high octane i dnt feel any knocking now try it and hopefully you will like my advice

I thought grounding is only for high end audio systems, will it help in knocking also?

Sir, with due respect, let me stat a well known fact here.
Suzuki people are giving us old liana engined swift because they KNOW, that most of the buyers are stupids who dont even know what engine it really is.most of the buyers dont care for anything at all other then resale value.
that is the only reason why we are still getting 20 yrs old diesel engines in toyota corolla 2.0D!!!

Update your knowledge please. Suzuki swift was launched world over with M13A engine(Liana wala) and same engine remained in swift from 2005-2010 till new model was launched, india being the only exception which upgraded it to K-series somewhere in 2009.It is better not to post without basic knowledge about things:P and claiming others to be stupid but infact mocking urself. Just check this suzuki global website which has old model(one in pakistan) specs(http://www.globalsuzuki.com/automobile/lineup/swift/spec/index.html) and one thing more Paki model is still being sold worldover along new model.

Someone mentioned where a high-octane-selling-fuel-station in Faisalabad is; it's the PSO station at canal road. Opposite Saeed Colony, I guess.

This pump is hardy 1km away from my home and they dont stock Hi-Octane from last year . I will check with them again. Thanks

Unity is required to fight for our right. If we can make a group to fight this case in court collectively i have no problem . Also highlight this to Media . I have no hestation to say " HONDA GOLI FIT KARWA RAHEE HAA'

@startec yup this is a very good idea and yes consumer court can bring them down on their knees and even media can do.Or an email to a high official can work too.I am sure they will come there selves to your door step and will solve the issues.

Seems like your problem is not yet resolved and I am really surprised, as I kept this new City in 2009 - 2010 and never faced the issue. Its slightly different than previous Corolla and takes some time to get used to it. (DBW thing I beleive). We should meet sometime. I have PMed you my cell number.

i dont know any areas in faislabad but a friend says that even the regular fuel of one petrol pump is very very good.its near mediacon trade centre, on the road to its right.
and hi octane can be found at pso on canal road.

i have this model of city bought in July 2010. Three things which i didnt like abt this car are: 1- Hard Suspension,, definitely not for un-metaled roads.. 2- At low gears it loses power/pick and 3- these are not actually faults but i dont like the thing that rear speakers cannot be installed on its rear board, no stop lamp and no light in trunk
BUT
there are always some good things
1- Its drive is so smoooooooth, no noise of any kind..
2- Road grip and ABS brake system is amazing, the previous model had a bad road grip
3- Gives 10 Km/ltr with AC in downtown where car moves at speed of 10-20 Km, 15 Km/ltr on motorway with AC and 17 Km/ltr on GT Road.
4- No problem in hilly areas, went very well to nathiagali
5- Excellent AC, chills the car, comparable to any superior car like CIVIC and Corolla Altis

i installed rear speakers by changing the rear board. its a plug n play kind a thing no hole nothing n i have 6 speakers n comps u can see the pics in city club

These new cars are sensitive and bit different in drive than previous cars due to Drive By Wire thing and it takes some time to get used to it.

• I was given semi synthetic Total Oil @ 3000 from Honda; it was the most pathetic thing happened. It increased knocking and also increased fuel consumption.
• I found Mobile 1 and Shell Helix Ultra; both fully synthetic; the most affective lubricants for City, everyone has his favourite; I prefer Helix Ultra as here in Faisalabad I yet havnt found any Mobile 1 genuine reseller.
• I found City and Civic both very sensitive to quality of oil therefore I try fueling from company operated pumps...I think the company operated pumps in Faisalabad are PSO outside Chiniot Bazar and Shell outside Aminpur Bazar towards Chiniot Bazar.
• Keep the air filter cleaned and periodically replace it (schedule is written in Owners Manual)
• Dont replace plugs; they are already of very good quality.
• Dont get the engine tuned/serviced from anywhere except Honda dealer. Asghar & Sons is ok; try going there in working days by taking half day off; getting work done in off peak timings always yield better result
• Start pressing your right foot engines are meant to be used. "Engine kholna" phenomena I think really works

I had knocking issues in 3000-5000; few things happened @ 5000 inspection (a) I beleive they upgraded the firmware (b) I started using Helix Ultra and (c) I got used to the car and started pinching it. It started giving best averages after 10000. From 15000 to 20000 (oil change to oil change) I recorded 14.6Km/L average. On my round trip from Lahore I always used to get 17+Km/L averages (with A/C). Took it couple of times on long routes with full passengers / trunk load and we all used to love its chilling A/C

If none of the above works; chances are you might have given some bad unit or something. You can try some other "known" City whose owner is satisfied. Test its drive to feel the differences and if there is any; take your car to the dealer and meet the customer relation manager and get the car inspected with computer and get the readings checked yourself as well. In the software "good" values are written as well. Similar to medical lab reports. Ask the operator that you want to see all the values yourself. Hope it will help
