Honda city 2010 Auto petrol avg 7.2 :(

hey guys .... i got honda city 2010 automatic its petrol avg is 7.2 and I consume my full tank in 5 days.. i just goto m.m.Alam road from Allama iqbal town .. daily.. and total distance is 25 km going to m.m.alam and coming back to iqbal town.

I want to know how to increase my car fuel avg .. its very low... people use to say me it will be batter after 10000 km ... but it fall down from 8.2 to 7.2

YOurs is very low.But there is very difference of fuel economy in manual and auto city.Auto doesnt do more than 14km/l on highway and max around 10 in city.MIleage will be improved with the time

you mean to say 25 KM x 5 Days = 125 KMs in one Tank ?
My cousin have a same one and he claims that his city do around 350-400 kms in one tank.

get ur car checked from honda, autos have high consumption but not this much, it should be 10+

my manual city 10 does about 450km in about 32 liters in city driving.

I have a 2010 City Auto driven about 4700 kms only. It gives me 9.5 to 10.5 kms in city with 70 % AC and 14-15 Kmpl on long routes. You better get yr car checked.

7.2 in 1300cc i-vtec .... my steermatic is giving 11 km/l in city with 100% ac on ....and 16 in motorway witn 115 km/h

it suld give u around 12 +- 0.5 per liter with AC and normal throttle on pedal...

how much have u driven

wt sorta plugs r u using?wts the milage on the car?did u get ur car checked?

City mileage is less then highway mileage anyways. For example i get 12-13 km per liter on highway and 7-8 km per liter in city driving. To improve mileage you can try following

1. Tune up i.e check air filter and plugs etc.
2. Driving style(avoid heavy foot)
3. tire air pressure
4. error in mileage calculations
5. quality of the fuel
6. does car rolls freely in netural?

I tune up my car on 10000 check up from honda fort... I ask them reason for low pick and low millage they said your air flirter was blocked due to dust... but now air fliter is also new everything but still fuel consumption is hight but pick is batter..
i have driven it 10879.... i got toyota gli .. its fuel avg is far batter then honda city.

Brother when i bought an xli in 2009(but now sold) used to do about 8km/l but when i changed my car tyres to bridgestone it used to do about 10km/ IN city just replace company tyres the are heavy and consume a lot of POWER AND PERFORMANCE IS ALSO AFEECTED BY ORIGINAL TYRES.

My plug are genuine honda plugs. I asked honda fort for plug change they said on 20k check up they will change the spark plug.

check them ur self too,if thery are copper plugs their life is 10k kms only!upgrade to iridiums,that wil help u in better economyu & better performance too.

Auto or manual both needs to be well tuned...if your auto is consuming more fuel there is some complete checkup required. City is famous for its oil economy. Auto should give within city drive avg.10km/l.

I have city 2010 auto. I it give 10.5 km/ltr local. I have replaced the plugs with Bosh Made in Germany 4 ends plugs. It has increased the pickup and decreased the fuel consumption..........Also use the genuine Air filter..........keep the Air filter clean every month or replace it when block. Also use Hi octane petrol to improve the performance of engine.

Get these things from any good mechanic /technician buddy. You are far away from or else i would have done it to my place.

1. Plugs whether irredium preferably or bosch 4 points plug made in germany.

2. Choose any good air filter of any good brand which must have a thin paper not too dense.

3. Get your injectors done ultrasonic cleaning.

4. Check if your idling rpm is around 800 or not

5. If you are experiencing any sign of black smoke or inflammation when moving your face towards silencer of car while pressing acc. Pedal. If yes you probably need to check your map sensor or oxygen sensor. Your tp sensor should have readin of 0.57 degree as well.

6. Check if there is any sign of loose of compression or engine is taking air from outside? Probably happen due to broken intake manifold. Even small hole can cause this.

7. If your car tyres have same air pressure 30 pounds or not in each tyre

8. If your tyres move free or not

9. If your ac compressor is taking load and raising head pressure

10. Try to use ocassionally hi octane fuel which ll help in increasing the milage.

These steps ll surely solve your issue dear :).

Want to add more that clean your throttle and intake system also by feeding your car by carburetor cleaner spray while pressing 75 percent of accelerator. ( you need to clean your plugs too when you ll go through this process). May you have a pleasent ride
