Honda City 2011 - Mileage Check

Dear All,

My Honda City is giving 10-11 Km/ltr with in City and 16-17 Km/On Highway (With Carefull Acceleration and Keeping it between 100-110 km/hr). It is just 700 Km Driven though.

Please assist me on my following queries

1. Is it fine or do I need to check on something ? Does it improves with time ?

2. I have heard some Plug change enhances the Fuel Efficiency , is that so ? If Yes I need some details

its OK , mileage improves as you drive more after 5000 km the mileage is optimum.
ALSO don't change plugs, city comes with iridium plugs having 100,000 km to drive with-out any change or service.

We have same model in MT, It gives us 11-12 in city with AC, Never tested on long routes. I just checked from honda classic, They said the mileage will get improve after 5000kms of drive.

No need to change plugs before 100,000kms, City comes with long life plugs as i heard. Correct me if i am wrong.

Edit: Sorry i repeated the same thing as Dr.Kazim did. I haven't seen his comment

You can check my fuel average test on city MT which I posted in another thread earlier. It came out to be 16km/l where car had done 800kms. But this does not mean your car has any problem, wait until you cross 5000kms mark.

I had a City 2010 and drove it about 10,000 KM till June 10, 2011. I used to go to my office from Chaklala to Blue Area Islamabad. I always had an average of 18-20KM/Ltr with AC ON.

I was really impressed with this beauty. I now have just got 2011 version.

Excellent drive, but wanna change stock tyres???? The reason will be told later.

ofcourse, mileage improves as new cars are driven - as the engine undergoes a 'break-in' period, performance increases. and as the ecu learns everything, it optimizes its operations.

in short...no need to worry mate
