salam guys i have honda city 2011 i drive 2200 till now n im driving on petrol. im having knoking prob when car iz in 2nd gear..... it gives me only 11km/l ... when i put on ac itz pick gone... after puting on ac itz look like im driving a cart instead on city

give it some kms to run first and in ac every car takes load no matter how big is the engine. initially it will gv u 9 to 10..my car is 27k n its ging 15.5 in local with gear change at 4 ...wait n donot play with engine oils ek baar jo lay lo try to stick to it ill prefer formula by caltex change at 3k

em getting max 8/ltrs in city with AC....27000 kms driven & its Auto...i dun let rpm go above 2000...very soft on accelator...what to do ?? 8 is tooooo bad for 1300 cc.

I just bought honda city 2011... done only 466 km and have the same problem... it is not a problem but a 'characteristic' of the car... there are many ways to minimise the delay and dead effect identified by you...

Put some Hi Octane Fuel
Also improvise on your gear change...

Note that 11 km / l is still not accurate since the electronic meter reads the idle gear position while in motion as maximum mileage efficiency... so dont let that 11km / l mark decieve... its not accurate...

I have honda city 2011 model driven 12000km. It gives 11km/liter with AC with in city & I have checked the figures when I refuel so there is no possibility of errors as I simply divide the km driven by the petrol in liter it consumes.I wonder when some people say that their honda city is doing 15km/liter in short.

Guys! the story of the milleage imrproving is all crap. My city auto gives me 8-9 within town at 20k kms. It was the same at 2k 10k and 15k. So cutting it short, the car is no good. Other issues that are part of the package, include poor road grip at speeds exceding 100kms, engine knocking even with HOBC, pathetic quality floor matting and seats, hopless sound system (went out of comission after the 1st month) and finally poor built quality.

I totally agree with QFA. my car is totally maintained from honda, I did not install CNG & also mixing HOBC but still I am getting pickup, knocking problem specially in 2nd gear the car sits down & after inserting full pressure on accelerator it moves like a cart.

run your car once for full throttle , like peddle to the metal stuff...
then put some hi octane with normal fuel..our petrol is not up to international standard and gives knocking problem on new cars,like vitz also knocks on normal petrol..
and dont fiddle around much,mileage will start to get better after 10k kms on the odo.. dont worry,new engines take time to settle in
