Honda City 2012 Prosmatec Mileage

As city has updated it's automatic transmission to be Prosmatec.

If there is any one driving this new one, could you please inform on the mileage this car is giving. The automatic transmission in the existing city is known to provide very poor mileage

Would really appreciate if any one could shed some light on this

The current generation i-vtec city (2009-present) always had prosmatec as its automatic transmission they have only re-badged it from AT to prosmatec to communicate their USP in a better way.

Coming back to your question of mileage. I booked mine in Nov'11 and just got it recently in the last week of May'12. The car drives really sluggishly (almost 2000 kms driven), shifts really hard and the mileage in city if I drive it really carefully (hypermilling), it gives a mileage of 10.5km/l. On motorway at speed of 120-125km/hr 12.5km/l and on highway at speed of 90-100km/hr 15-16km/l.

In other markets Honda is offering this car with CVT transmission it's only in Pakistan where it is offered in Prosmatec and that too because CVT was a flop due to CNG. To cut it short the automatic transmission (same as 8th Gen Civic aka reborn) being offered in Pakistan is not a good match for this engine/powertrain.

^^^^ agreed. My manual with 80 percent hypermiling gave 12.5 km per liter with hundred percent ac on within the city in its first ever tank. It is averaging around 14 km per liter already in the second. My advice would be to go for a manual transmission if fuel economy is your concern

eerrr.....now i am confused. I dont think it was Prosmatec before. because in their statement when Aspire came out was specifically that Prosmatec technology was going to be introduced with it. Correct me if I am wrong please.

You can check with Honda, it has always been Prosmatec since 2009. It was just that they realized buyers don't know this and they need to communicate it in a better way, hence rebadged it to Prosmatec.

bro..being in Pakistan, do u ever think that car companies would not charge u a single extra penny with even the minutest upgrade like chromed grill or mud flaps ? no...rite ? then how can u even consider this fact that they have introduced prosmatec tranny and arent charging u a single rupee ?

citt AT gives hardly 9 km/l in city whereas manual easily gives 13-14 km/l
