Honda City 2013 Aspire 1.5 Mod help!

Hello everyone!

I am new to this forum but not new to cars.

I have a 2013 Honda City...Aspire 1.5

Since it’s been a little time that I have had the car and it’s seen abuse from people who I wouldn’t trust with donkey carts...
I decided to try something new and modify it a bit.

I don’t want a HP beast. I know that would require a very good base and probably an engine swap in the first place...plus if one asks me...I would go with a Mitsubishi Galant 1998 or Civic Dolphin and mod that into a beast.

However...on the road everyday?
Pretty impractical.

So...I have decided to modify my City a bit.
It’s mostly work on Suspension, Steering, Gears, add sway bars, lights etc.

I wish to ask you all for ideas.

I am thinking of adding cold air intakes...and cat back exhausts...plus switch out the pipes for premium silicone ones and swap all the wires for professional after market ones. If possible, I would even swap the ECU into a specialized one and have that tuned.

Plus...I am thinking of adding better tires, rims, lights, interior deco like seat covers and LCD change and maybe the dashboard renewals and stuff like that.

I am kinda new to doing this in Pakistan. So I need opinions on modest performance upgrades and look upgrades. Plus also where I should get help from. I am a resident of Wah Cantt with ready access to Islamabad and Pindi. Currently, I am thinking of buying all the parts...going to Honda and getting them installed professionally...then to some deco place to deck stuff out...then get the whole car repainted and repaired by Honda...and then to Carbographics for a thorough clean up and coating etc.

I am going to ask them to install the parts I buy and repaint the car.
The interior I think they won’t help me with?
Like...seat covers and aftermarket seat belt systems and a proper LCD (the Honda one is pretty bad...) etc.
plus...I am buying imported parts for the mechanical stuff like Intakes and exhausts and steering set ups and gear set ups and stuff.
I will ask them to install it of course.

I actually got my Honda City 2012 Unichiped (piggyback device) - external ECU you may call it. That 1.3 manual City transformed literally into a pocket-rocket. No it didn't turn Ferrari performance lol but the torque, throttle response was increased significantly. Mine was probably the first Honda City to get the Unichip in Pakistan and was professionally tuned by Yasir (ProTuner) and (CEO Unichip Pakistan) himself.

I actually got two ECU-maps tuned; "Economical" and "Sport" and both functioned quite well.

Dropped in a K&N Race-Filter (drop-in) - (genuine) for increase air-flow; didn't want to get a cold-air intake as I'm not a huge fan of those.

Lowered the car by using Tein's coil-overs.

Overall the practicality remained for the daily grind with improved performance.

And just FYI: Honda dealerships don't do any kind of "modifications" for your car lol.

Ok that’s actually great to hear...

I have some manner of lead on the ECU now...

Oh and I am not going to ask Honda to ‘modify’ it. I am just going to take in parts and ask them to install them.

Are there any other places where I can get such parts and their installation done?

• Try to get your work done by Yasir only not anyone else. He's usually not in Islamabad but try scheduling a appointment when he's there so he can clarify any technical questions you might have in mind.

Sir the K&N drop-in filter is a DIY and the coil-overs could be a DIY if you have the technical know-how though any mechanic is capable of changing them for you.

Search online, there are proper tuner garages in Islamabad, approach them, decide on the hp, discuss with them about the parts and figure(money), and watch them do their stuff

HPR and AutoDocs are the only other option in Islamabad and honestly they don't deal with Honda City's - I would've recommended them as well but their expertise lies in other areas of performance.

Sir Honda City 1.5 hai - AMG performance package nahi lagnay wala usmay jo itna HP keh upar working hogi lol. Maximum anyone can probably squeeze out from the 1.5 is a 30+- HP with all modifications done which will ultimately cost 60K-80K (performance-upgrades only) - under or over.

Well...here’s the thing...
I am really just looking for a few mod ideas to boost the performance a bit...
The ECU profiles and adding the intakes, filters, wiring and pipes plus adding an exhaust system should be more than enough. I am also thinking of getting after market spark plugs...iridium maybe. That’s all the performance mods I am looking to do on the engine.

Next, I am thinking of getting some proper imported suspension system set-up (coil overs and the rest of it), adding a short shifter and a gear box mod, getting the steering system reworked ( add an aftermarket performance kit if I find any that improves the current power steering system), get some compatible sport brake system with the ABS...then add sway bars maybe. Also looking for light set ups and exterior detailing equipment. Plus...a good LCD set up to go or improve on the present system and the navigation. I am looking to work on the dash too...though I dint know how.

Stuff like that. I would appreciate ideas on that.

Plus, I don’t really know any places where I could get these.
I know I am buying the equipment and taking it to Honda...to get it installed. I don’t think they would mind ADDING our stuff to the car...and then Repainting the car.

I will get everything installed, then take the car to some deco pit (I know Carvaan does some work), get the rest done, get the car painted and detailed, then coated by Carbographics.

I just need your views on how I modify stuff, what I should go for, specific ideas for equipment brands and products, where to get that...etc etc.

Sir waisay just a fruitful thought, why not just buy yourself a Accord Euro R .......- but if you're really inclined to upgrading your City go ahead!

I was seriously thinking of getting the new civic and then going berserk on that engine and everything...

But since I already have the car and I am planning on getting a proper beast and modding the hell out of it after medical college ends...and because I have to commute from Wah all the way to Bara Kahu everyday...I thought of keeping my current vehicle and attempting mods on it. Should also give me a little experience of how to approach that in Pakistan.

Also...this has to be the most helpful place I have been able to talk to in Pakistan.
Talk about ‘car modifications’ in Pakistan brings an image of coffee cans...spoilers on front wheel drives...and teenagers doing donuts in ricer cars for most people.

I think car Fest would be a decent place for you to go instead of honda Dealerships, as the dealerships don't have the required technical staff to help you. Visit Car Fest and see what they offer, the owner is quite knowledgable and would be able to help you get a stage one mod on your city
