Do u think honda advisors are so lame that they present the cake in a plate to their competitor?

If u know marketing, toyota is enjoying boom at the moment due to new model hit. Honda is just giving time for the dust to settle before they bring their model to surface.

Ever wondered why apple and samsung flagship devices dont come in same seasons? A marketing mind can easily answer and thats what honda is doing.

For your kind info, Mobiles get obsolete rapidly and technology changes quickly so the producers can relax down a bit but its not in the case of car industry where resources are not easily mobile and flexible to put in for both producer and consumer to put in. Why do you think all of a sudden the large number of people who bought Gli and Gli AT will now buy New city after sometime all of a sudden? There was desperation and market gap as both corolla and city were 5 year old model and buyers needed something new now finally it was honda's chance to grasp opportunity but rather then grasping it they grassed it. I'm sure many people would've sold their 5 to 6 year old to buy a new and updated corolla. This is marketing mind, Defensive plannings backfire, Business and competition is all about risk taking. Honda should have gambled with hints of City coming soon but rather they put themselves at back foot while letting their opponent to dominate the market. Toyota have done well with their Promotion, Pricing and Placement. Just the perfect launch time, With new civic not liked much worldwide and city getting old, They lashed on the opportunity. The prices are good and so are promotions however I feel product, The Xli/Gli contains some outdated and below par elements. Overall good marketing strategy and Marketing Mix from toyota as business perspective. Honda now have to give some substantial USPs in their city at good price to generate demand in potential buyers that competitor captured.

India has the new model which was launched couple of months ago not sure about Sri lanka though ...

Some cosmetic changes are coming after Eid which will hit showrooms as early as 20th October , 2014 ...

Yup, India is the biggest market for City, bigger than thailand now so Honda will concentrate and work there. Also Honda is present in India as an entity not through local partnerships IIRC (like here)

Pakistan, unfortunately, as a market (size, buying power etc) is more comparable to Srilanka or B'desh. Thus market powers might be driving decisions more than anything. esp considering that most have already spent their incomes on IMC!

does Honda Pakistan thinks that this small car could compete with Xli/Gli which are bigger(exterior + interior space) and more aggressive,having better AC AND suspension and comfortabe ride,resale,cheap spares and good ride insulation and seating position.....In 1.3 xli/gli will again lead this time kicking city badly.....

now plz dont tell me 1.3 corolla is underpowered.....as i hav driven a 1.3city AT and found it as the most slowest 1.3 car.....Manual corollas are running good though they have slightly less acceleration than City...But these are sedans not Ferrari.....

In Pakistan, if the Indus Motor will make a cart and label it XLI, people will start buying it and praising it. So don't compare XLI/GLI cars in Pak market.

Have you driven the new city? How can you say that new rolla is more comfy than new city, how can you say rollas ac is better than new city?
Oh for God sake please don't even bring that good for nothing piece of junk XLI here. It simply is a "Dabba". By your comments it seems that you're just another die hard Corolla fan who just wants attention by saying bad about City/Civic. Everybody knows which car has better acceleration so no need for your comment about it. LOL city is a small car XD It's my personal preference current City is more comfy and spacious compared to the 10th gen, what you have to say about it?
Everybody has their personal preference and the thing you hate doesn't mean that others hate it too, others might love it and consider Corolla a piece of ****.
