AOA dear fellows, I own 2015 Honda city MT, the difficulty with the car is that I am facing is hard clutch pedal from few months, I drove 75k till now ...but now clutch is difficult to keep on press especially in heavy traffic and within city premises... I have no issue with pick and drive so far now, Car has an excellent pick on plain road plus climbing hills.. the main problem is hard car clutch pedal...expert are requested to please help me in this regard...one mechanic was asking me to change clutch + pressure plate etc., other is saying it is fine, and this is the known issue in Honda City...

replace clutch cable and make oiling in clutch pedal and in its spring.

Actually clutch is hard to press. it is not jammed. and city don't have clutch cable as far as i know.

you need to replace clutch release bearing. clutch is operated through hydraulic system so there is no cable for any adjustments.

Salam!did you sort out ur hard clutch problem in city?
I have same issue in my city 2014.i feel like there is no flexibility in clutch while pressing and special releasing in 1st gear over speed breaker.there is no balance relation between accelerator and clutch.
I have been to a mechanic he washed out exhaust and catalytic converter etc.thn he asked me to check it now.but the problem was still there.he is saying that my car is perfect.
But i drove another city 2010 model.which was quite friendly in this regard.
So can you please share what you final concluded ??

Issue is mostly with clutch throw out bearing which requires replacement, if one is going for this job then it would be better if you replace clutch plate and pressure plate along with it.

If you are looking for a temporary solution, then bleed your clutch oil, keep bleeding it till the time old one is not replaced with the new one. that would loose your clutch and would make it soft and that may solve your problem without going into bearing replacement.

City has a hydraulic clutch, no cable. Can be pressure plate. But I have not seen many complaining of this issue in City.
Get it checked from Honda or some reputed mechanic.

I asked from honda avenue about cost of clutch plate change.
The guy said that clutch plate,pressure plate,fly wheel,bearings and rs 12000 labour cost.
So total cost he calculated Rs.44000.

And why on Earth do you want to get it done from Honda, Japanese parts would costs you between 10,000-13000 and labor 4000-5000 max.

Are you following routine maintenance schedule from honda?
Please replace clutch oil.

Honda service centers do NOT prefer to change clutch oil. Thay say that, in 80% of the cases, clutch cylinder get damaged due to new oil. I don't know why is it so but I have asked this from 3 different Honda service centers.
