Honda City 2015 RPM issue

I have honda city aspire 1.5 manual 2015 model.
It’s rpm goes to 4000 at a speed of 120km/hr. Mechanic has changed clutch plates and fuel pump but still the problem is same. Engine oil, tuning, throttle and even catalytic cleaning is done but the problem remains. Can anyone guide regarding this?

1. Honda city 1.5 manual has short gear ratios you can search the forums. I think gli is around 3.5k rpm at 120kph so 3800-4000 rpm sounds just right for honda city.

2. All the maintenance/repair items you mentioned other than clutch replacement has no effect on rpm to speed ratio for manual transmission.

Whereas for auto transmission, transmission slip and TC lockup are affected if some of these aren't within normal range.

If your clutch isn't working right you'd notice less acceleration compared to rpm increase

If acceleration and rpm change is linear (specially under load and on inclines) your clutch is working good.

It's a common in 1.5L. 1.5 manual is offered with shorter gear ratios to give a sportier drive as most people who opt for 1.5 go for prosematic
well that is extremely disappointing. while the vehicle performs great within city, on the Motorway its not pleasant with that high revs, loud engine noise

Don’t you think 1500cc engine have to take less Rpm

I took a drive of same car with auto transmission and it goes around 2800rpm on 120

Yes i have 1.3 Prosmatec. Its RPM is on 2000 for 100 and 2500 on 120KM

it has nothing to do with size of the engine, its how the company has geared the ratios. 1.3 and 1.5 manual city have same gear ratios. At 120 they both are around 3800rpm.

There is nothing to do with engine size, Its all depend upon gear ratio.1.5 manual is offered with shorter gear ratios to give a sportier drive(Bad thing). As most people who opt for 1.5 Auto

Hi, What should be the rpm of 1.3 mt at speed of 100. My city mt 1.3 goes to more than 3 rpm at 95 98. Is this normal?

It should be at 2900-3000 at 100 km/h

At the speed of 100, it touches 3000-3200rpm
