Honda City Aspire 1.5 ( 2013) - Needs Suggestions

Hello friends.

I have recently purchased Honda City Aspire 1.5. Its mileage is 68000 km.
What maintenance should i do, i just changed its Engine oil and oil filter.

Please consider that i will be taking this car to road trip from Karachi to Naran.

Please guide me as this is my first experience to purchase used car , else all previous purchases were new cars.

Consider replacing the airfilter. Also get the suspension bushes checked. Knowing the conditions of the roads they wear out pretty quickly.

Check wear on the break pads and tires aswell. And inspect the fan belts for wear.

Other than that mechanically these cars are pretty solid if maintained properly. Mine is at 153k km and still going strong. All be it for that one worn out shock absorber.

Surprisingly the bush etc of this shape dont wear out easy either.

Probably all highway mileage then. Mine started getting really annoying around 120k mark

I will definitely follow these points and if you remember anything else, do let me know. Probably i will take car to mechanic tomorrow or day after for thorough check up. i used engine oil SHELL HELIX HX5 SL/CF, A2/B2 10W-40.

Furthermore, if you know any good mechanic here in Karachi please do recommend me, I live near Tariq road.

We all knows in Karachi, any car wont go till 330,000 mileage with original suspension bushes, these are marketing tech tics or at least not applied here.

10W-40 is slightly thicker than the recommended 5w-30 for this engine. Look for Total Quartz 9000 5W-30 or Honda’s own 5W30. They’re both the same oil. Just rebadged by Honda.

I’ve never been to Karachi so can’t help with the mechanic bit.

Since i already changed the engine oil this time, for next time i will use what you recommend.

For bushes, any idea how much it costs for new one's.

All be it for that one worn out shock absorber.

I had mine changed about a year ago so back then it was 8k with labor. So idk if they’ll be more expensive now.

By that shock thing I meant mine has one weak shock absorber that I’m not bothered enough to change yet but that’s due to peshawar’s Dug up roads for BRT construction.

Whats the fuel average this car gives on city driving as well as on highways, considering auto transmission. Usually i drives on soft foot within 3000 rpm.

Mine is the old 2009 manual 1.3. It’s so old it didn’t even get the updated Ecu for the knocking that used to happen when the car launched so it’ll be a bit different than 2010+ ones. But I get around 9-11km/l in Peshawar and 12-14 in Islamabad. I drive like an idiot on the motorway so it hovers around 14km/l but if I drive like a sane person then max it’ll get is 15-16km/l on the motorway. So expect slightly lower for the auto.

10w40 is fine for this engine. quartz 9000 is a bad idea for him,

As far as my knowledge goes. Honda recommends 5w-30 grade oil for this engine. And Honda genuine oil is rebadged total quartz 9000. I could be wrong. But someone else might need to key in on the recommendation by Honda according to owner’s manual.

have a thorough check of suspension, as this should be perfect... i have been to same destination with fully loaded city 2016 1.5 auto....went to worst places in snow, it rocks...but you have to make sure about ground clearance...some lace we had to let ladies off in rain...to get pas some khadas...

Use genuine airfilter and pour 5w-30 synthetic oil no need of using thick oil it will decrease performance and average..

Depending on road conditions. Overall city is low clearance car and there are always chances to bump into breakers or bad patches.
