Honda City Aspire 1.5 MT High RPM Issue

Dear Friends;

I m going to book Honda City Aspire 1.5 MT soon. The only issue i heard is that it has high RPM (around or above 4000) at 120Km/hr speed which is quite high as compared to normal. Can you guys please give your feedback on this. Have you faced similar issue. Also please share your experiences in terms of driving experience of Aspire 1.5MT. Would appreciate your feedback

I have aspire 1.5 2015 model..yes rpm is on the higher side but this is not an issue its completely normal you will not face any issue according to rpm..the drive, breaking, handling and main thing pick,accerlation is simply awesome you will love it..I'm getting around 13-14 average in city easily..

It's not an issue. 1.5 city has short gear ratios and thus compared to 1.3 it's RPM is higher on similar speeds, it's normal and nothing to worry about.

At 120 km\hr and in 5th gear, the RPM touches to 4000, which feels a bit high as the engine is roaring, Add the road noise of the shitty euro stars to this and you have a annoying package, I have 1.5 aspire manual, i replaced euros with advans and it got a little better

This is the first time I am hearing of such a huge limitation in the City 1.5 MT. I have a 1.3 MT but i think it performs very well on motorway without any roaring of the engine. I don't remember the RPM at 120 kph but I think its not as high as 4000. How about 1.5 AT?

1.3MT is about 3800rpm.

AT city is lower than 3000, dont remember the exact number.

This is how is it is, it's not really an issue. It's just gear ratios difference.

I don't think there is any issue with the high rpm as long as the car is giving good fuel average.

By the way what is the top speed of 1.5 MT City? Is there any speed limiter in city? If yes than at what speed does it kick in. Just curious

I have owned 2 city 1.5 M/T... 2013 and currently I have 2017 Model.

Top speed That I have achieved is about 195-200. On paper it is 197 I believe.

The mileage on 2013 was 12-14. On 2017 it is 12 - 16.

No speed limiter

Well my friend has a video of him reaching the speed of 197 and at that point the power cuts off so he released the accelerator. He said that the car was still gaining more speed when power cutoff. So there might be a limiter. Which model did you achieve that top speed in?

I didn't notice any cut off on the 2013 model. I saw the needle exactly on 200 mark on motorway. Or maybe I wasn't paying enough attention.

I haven't gone above 195 on 2017. Besides I have only driven it in Islamabad till now. Will try next time I hit the motorway.

It could be because of the RPM as there is a limiter there. But not on speed.

May be here is a screen shot of the video. Rpm is on 6400. This is milliseconds before power cutoff

Yes the cut off is because of RPM
