Honda City aspire 1.5L

I am both a toyota gli, aspire 1.5 and 2011 Honda City 1.3 AT’s owner. I just dont want to offend someone but just want to discuss some facts regarding both the cars; corolla gli and Honda city aspire 1.3L. There is a price difference present. At a price of gli there comes an option of Honda city aspire 1.5 as well. I purchased my GLi in 2015 and now current ODO meter shows me mileage of 67000kms. The Aspire 1.5 i purchased Just 11 months ago. I’m really more satisfied with this car and same goes for my city 1.3.
Let me tell you why. It’s just because the driving pleasure I get while driving city. Car’s acceleration is pretty good and I’m lovin it. I drive both gli auto and city 1.5 AT with an identical way like I do push both the cars till some extent and the average I’m getting from my GLi auto is 9.1 in local and on highways it’s around 11.6+ last time I visited islamabad. My 1.3 city is giving me 10.1 in local and 13+ on highway. So starting with te feul average honda city wins the game.
Second comes braking, honda city is wayy better
Third comes Suspension, city’s suspension is harder whih I dislike but it provides better handling like If I am driving corolla at 120+ I’m much scared as I feeling I’m loosing control over my car. So corolla is better for bumpy roads and will provide you with pleasure but for a person like me who want some power would start hating corolla Just because too underpower car and ofcourse in automatic the acceleration is worst. Honda City is not sluggish at all. In automatic and manual. In manual city provides an ideal mileage of 12.5-14.7 km what I myself noticed in local, not qouting figures from any source.
And a Question is that why people prefer gli more.
Because mind set ban chuka he. People Just dont want to realize or understand what they are getting at what prices. Just because they know gli bohut mazboot gaari he. Second opinion is neechay nai lagti bhai. City is also with a good ground clearance. City ka engine bhi kaafi queit hai. City is best in all terms. Except for villages. To issi waja se people prefer corolla because abbi tk wo iss gaari ko luxury samajh kar nai letay woi 2 D wala mind set hai keh sab kuch sasta mile ga maintainence asaan hai so people prefer this car. Actually this car is not worth it and the new facelift. Grande is good 1.6 altis is ok. But gli makes no sense. Such smaller engine with such heavy body. Makes no sense. I’m Just waiting that when city is going to introduce its new model. I think it will be in oyr markets. When toyota will introduce new vios replacing the gli.
Honda Is Love. I compared both the cars. I do have them both in my garage. City ki handling braking acceleration bhut achi he. AC dono ka same hi hai taqreeban waha bhi city agay nikal jaati hai. Gli is more spacious. Interior dono ka plastic. Aspire meh navigation chrome handles present hai. Magar navigation bahir se 20K se lekar 80K tk lag jaati he. To it is nothing to worry about. Toyota is a good car. I would just prefer a 1.6 or 1.8. Gli makes no sense. Please dont get offended but Just c that if you put a 1600 CC or 1800 cc engine in Fortuner so then nobody will say gli bahir se achi lagti hai. I lime shape of gli more than city but I dont want to drive it anymore Just because of the reasons mentioned. Fazool tareen acceleration. Trust me guys. I can give you a test drive. And I’m very focused about my cars to mantain bhi A1 hai ye nahi keh acceleration pr koi mantainance ki waja se faraq hai. Worst acceleration of automatic gli.

I myself got an Aspire 1.5L MT about 10 months ago and I am really enjoying the drive the acceleration the breaking the handling . I loving pushing it a bit as the car just takes off. I have driven GLI MT as well but there is no comparison between 1.5L City and GLI in the above mentioned terms as City is far better. Only plus point for GLI is that it has soft suspension which is good for rough roads. Since I live in Lahore and only travel to other cities by motorway, So Honda City is the best option in that price range for me.

By the way after driving my City, my one friend (owner of City 1.3L AT 2017) and other friend ( owner of City 1.3L MT 2017) both regret not getting 1.5L City.

So my opinion is that 1.5L City is far better than 1.3L City and GLI/XLI

City 1.3 has better fuel consumption and reasonable acceleration....it does not fly like 1.5 but it has reasonable acceleration....like honda city 1.5 reachers 0 100 in 12 seconds honda city 1.3 reachers it in 13 seconds....so not too much difference....both dont compete with swift which reaches 0 100 in 10 seconds....if you want real fun to drive car go for swift....i mean sahee baat hai it has a bigger engine on a smaller body...so it really flies....

No doubt City is a good car with decent power & better handling but stiff suspension & noisy rattling interior on bad patches is the only drawback & the only reason I sold my City last year.

Brother who loves the rattling & noisy interior of his new car only 20k kilometers driven !
I also changed its tyres to Yoko Advan Db but no Luck, finally sold it.

i am thinking to buy 1.5 mt city please tell me the rpm at 120kmph for mt 1.5 and fuel average

City 1.5 has a 120hp engine. 1.3 has a 100hp engine.

Whereas GLI has a paltry 84hp engine so of course it won't be as much fun to drive.

I have owned and used 3 corollas till 2013 and recently i sold my 2014 1.3 manual City and got a 1.5 prosmatec city.
Rest things put aside i can gurantee you that corolla has way better brakes then this model of city plus the suspension of City is horrible having no extra handling advantage over the rolla.
Overall yes, 1.5 gives you more power then a 1.3 car and thats why i think 1.6 Altis is the best buy if one has the budget and time.
