Repairs done until now.
1. Changed spark plugs.
2. Tried 3 grades of oils now sticking to 20w-50. First trie 5w-30 engine got too much noisy, and minor leaks from valve cover and 2 or 3 other places, changed to 10w-40, leaks got away but still nosiy engine, finally poured 20w-50, engine has considerable less noise now and no leaks.
3. changed radiator, old one has been repaired so many times that it only took 2.5 liters of coolant, while my old Suzuki Khyber with smaller radiator gotten more than 3 liters at least so replaced the radiator, unfortunately because of unavailability of good mechanic, the job was done with mediocre professionalism, but it gets the job done.
4. Charged up A/C system with Gas.
5. Installed new stereo.
Future Repairs in mind.
1. Replace the alternator, as it puts extra load on engine when under heavy load and gives out medium pitch whine.
2. Replace the A/C compressor as it also bogs down engine a lot when turned on, according to me the engine should not make you feel that compressor has turned on.
Some issues which i think are worth noticing,
1. Almost zero forums support, no online or offline manual available, has to do most of the work by guess.
2. Parts is another issue, i have been trying to find a mud flap of rear wheel for quite some months now but can't find it.
3. Mechanics don't want to touch it unless you agree to have them the car for overnight repairs.
4. Steering wheel straightness, none of the mechanics in twin cities was able to straighten the steering wheel, it always gets deflected to one side or the opposite side after every alignment.
Good Things.
1. Apparently this engine is quite rugged, it doesn't overheat, the temperature stays put.
2. Ample amount of power, may be this is subjective. Previously i drove a khyber so yeah, the power gap is huge.
3. Car is pretty stable even at higher speeds.
I will be discussing the repairs, the DIY stuff here. I am open to suggestions, comments. Basically this will be a journal for the car for the time to come.
