So, i went on this mission to facelift my 2014 Honda city but faced a couple of difficulties throughout the whole procedure. This thread is to help people who want to face lift their older models to the newer ones.
Il try to breakdown all the costs and the materials involved.
A clean face lift requires two prequisites; Genuine parts & exquisite paint job .
I got both the bumpers from montgomery road Lahore and they were quoted to me as genuine ones but honestly they are not the same ones which come with the car. They are quite reasonable though with no fit and finish issues but i'd still recommend checking the Honda genuine parts shop at montgomery road 1st (which i failed to do) . I got them for 5k each. The front bumper comes without the lower black grill , fog plastic covers (dont buy em if u plan to install fog lamps later on which i did) and the little plastic cover which is for 1400 rs and 250 rs respectively.
The next thing is the front chrome grill which is the most tricky part . 'Genuine' one costs around 10-11k which comes in 2 seperate pieces , chrome & plastic have to be joined together with the help of bolts & clips . Now comes the tricky part ; a Chinese grill with little finish issues (which are visible upon close inspection only) is for 3500 only. It also comes in 1 piece , yes i fell for the Chinese one (budget issues ofcourse). But, i may go for the original one after some time just for nothing i guess. You have to get a new front Honda emblem as well and all the worthless chrome emblems are 200 rs each which i wouldnt recommend ofcourse if you are on a good budget . They look ok but the chrome wont last long for sure. Dnt forget to get extra clips and double tape for the emblem as well.
The rear bumper is technically divided in three parts. The bumper , a rear spoiler(thats what they call it, its the black garnish wich houses the reflectors) and a couple of reflectors. This black garnish isnt needed if you plan to put a modulo kit on your car. The garnish is for 1500 and the reflectos are also 1500 with Stanley embosed writings and all. Quality was good, reflections, red colour , fit and finish everything was perfect.
Moving on the rear lights, well, i didnt purchase the rear lights as a i heard about the rear plastic being different from the current ones. It needs alteration with the car body housing where the lights rest upon so i left that part for now. A light pair (genuine) is for 14k whereas chinese/taiwan/thai cost around 3-6k .
I paid 19k to the shop owner for all these parts . Now lets come to the Modulo body kit.
The sole purpose for flifting my car was this bodykit, it gives City a modern, savage and a complete car look which i think was genuinely missing from my car. This bodykit always made me drool over its appearane and i always used to questiom myslef ; is this really the same car ? So in short , it was a necessesity for me and trust me city owners should go for it , its worth it.
It costed me 16k from Montgomery road, its a Made in Taiwan very flexible plastic though. God knows if its really Taiwanese or Abs but thats what the market has to offer, Its not OEM but the quality is very good.A Chinese(also plastic) without the made in Taiwan logo costs around 11k which wasnt very bad 2 but i prefered the Taiwan one. Its not less then 18500 anywhere but somehow i got it for cheap. Dont forget to buy 3M 1 inch 40ft silicone double tape for the body kit, its around 30rs/ft . It comes with all its nuts and bolts, all you need is the double tape.
Purchasing done , now lets move towards paint and fix job. I cant stand poor paint quality and that too on my bumpers thus i got all my stuff painted from a known painter here in JT Lhr, they charge you 6500/piece but paint matching and paint quality is simply outclass . I paid 25k for all the stuff.
Front bumper is pretty easy to fit but the real deal is the rear bumper . Facelift models have a straight silencer pipe as the bumper cut sits right in front of the 'dholki' whereas the older models have a curved pipe as the cut or the hollow space in the bumper where the pipe shows itself is located at the end of the bumper right where it starts to curve towards it side.
Well, it took us some time to straighten that pipe with all those 'juggaarrs' like heating and hammering that sturdy pipe helping us alot.
End result was what i always wanted. A compelety new & sleek look to my car and all the hard work and money spent finally paid off when i looked at my car. It took me three days to get this little exterior flift project completed. Here are some pics

Total cost : 19 + 16 + 25 + 3(DLAA fogs) +5 (mazduri , inaam , double tape , clips , emblem etc) = 68k
Paint job is expensive here, you can opt for cheaper paint if you like but i recommend getting the bestest paint job available. Javaid auto was demanding 7500/ piece for the bumpers only which makes 13k for the bumpers . Guess what , he asked a whopping 20k for the bodykit only.
A gud paint job requires good paint, good paint booth and a near perfect colour matching. I used Dupont here.
Interior : blue meter , multimedia steering control switches , power side mirrors with indicators are all yet to be done and are on hold for now .
Happy flifting
