Honda City Fan & AC Problem

Hi, I'm looking for some guidance

I have Honda City 2016 manual, Yesterday I was driving on Highway AC was worked fine for 40 minutes and then suddenly blower through reduced (almost like zero) and it felt like hot air was coming, I tried changing blower numbers, switched ac on/off but it stayed same.

After some time, I again turned on and it was working fine, travelled in city multiple times and it was fine all the time.
Then in evening same problem happened and after 40-50 minutes it was fine again.

Can you please guide what could be the issue?

I'm not sure if this is related to heat, because temperature was high during day time (and inside city) it worked fine.

Most likely low gas that is causing your evaporator core to ice up, thus reducing airflow.

Happened with my city as well. Took it to Honda 3s SITE area karachi. They couldn't diagnose the problem and insisted on changing the ac gas. Reluctantly I agreed, ac is working fine since then, but I believe it was a hit and trial, luckily it worked for me. Total cost 4500 rs. I would recommend that you get the ac serviced from some reputable mechanic, who should be able to cx all components incl condenser etc.

Happened in my City too while on the way from Karachi to Rawalpindi in May 2020. After running continuously for a few hours air from vents reduced to almost zero but chilled air could be felt at the vents. After switching off compressor for some time the AC worked perfectly again. Happened repeatedly. I have deduced that dust build up on evaporator coils caused ice to form which blocked the flow of cool air. Once compressor switched off the ice melted and AC cooling resumed. Plan to clean evaporator coils by myself and check the results.

So far not cleaned evaporator as I have not gone on a long trip after my Karachi to Rawalpindi journey. I went to Lahore a few months ago but it was winter so AC was not used. In local running AC works fine.

Walaikum Assalam. I took my City about a year back to Honda Centre Rawalpindi to get the AC checked. They said everything was fine & only AC gas was low. They recharged the gas & fitted cabin air filter. Since then my AC has been performing very well
