Guys, need advice on upgrading m city model. I got city 2000 and never regrets owning it. Still going great and it got 250000 on odo now.

Just thinking about upgrading to 05-06 model. Need advice whether I should go for it. And what wud b the price range for it. M budget is 8.5max.

On this saturday I visited Honda Fort for check engine light issue. The guy connected a laptop and diagnosed it as a fault in anti knock sensor. They said that use some high octane the light will turn off. Now I think there is nothing to worry as anti knock sensor failure is causing light to glow every thing else is fine. sometimes the light does not glow even if i drive 2-3 kms but sometimes it glows within half a km. What do you suggest

using high octane is the ONLY way to get rid of knocking as far as i ve learned... try using atleast 50-50 ratio of high octane and simple petrol, if not all high octane (u dont really need all of it though).
after u start using highoctane, knocking will slowly disappear and when it does, take out the battery terminal of ur car for like 30mins to it resets the ECU and removes the error codes in it.this can be done by taking ur car to a mechanic and hooking it up with the diagnostic tool n clearing the codes but he ll charge u n may be wont have time for that.this is necessary because if u dont clear the codes, they show up again as checklight even if nothing actually went wrong on that instant.

Happens all the time with me mate, actually Im a freak when it comes to cars.......after every re-fill, the instant I start up my ride I am able to judge the petrol, whether or not its good fuel or bad fuel, and sure enough the acceleration decreases, mileage decreases an tons of other issues arise, these days fuel coming in is very bad, trust me..........store your car for a while an I guarantee it will give you problems once you start it again........................btw how old is your car?? Although let Ahmad pai come in, he is more technically sound than me on such issues.......though just for the sake of durability I have an 07 model thats never been tuned, done 100k on it, now though after eid Im taking it in for it`s very first tune up..........:-#........just a testament that hondas are tough too!

if u ve finally decided to get ur car tuned, just get the throttle body cleaned properly (u know what i mean by properly) dont get the tappets adjusted.the reasons is that if there is even 0.1% difference in what they do and what they should've done, ur car will sound very bad "kirr kirr kirr" the honda ppl in sargodha have never done tappets properly on any car that i ve taken to them (city idsi, new city, civic 96,civic 2001, civic 2008) may be lahore honda ppl would be better but... u dont really need it!

i suggest you simply use a liquid hand wash or for more stubborn stains may be a liquid kitchen utensils cleaner with a wet sponge (i dont know of a commercial fabric cleaner as such for this). No need to take fabric off the door, just try it out on a small patch first to see the result then apply throughout. you can also use it on the rubber lining and plastics (not dash board) inside. it worked for me. give it a try and see.

i ll certainly try that soon... a friend also informed me that "lemon max liquid" works very well on fabric,rubber and even plastic.
fabric and plastic wont be tough but theres this rubber lining on door sills ... its toooo damnn tough to clean it.its gets tooo dirty as u step on it while getting on/off and i ve never been able to clean it so far.... lets see what lemon max does to it...

8.5 lakh is a nice budget for a 2005 city.may be not good enough for an extremely clean one but i ve seen people getting a lucky n finding very nice 06 ones for around 8.5 lakh too!

This post is specifically for zohaib bhai.

He had a small issue with his car.the engine gave a lot of KIR KIR sound they was worrying him.now that his mechanic confirmed that its nothing but the sound of the engine on cng, hes happy to know the engine is fine but wants to know what causes it and how can it be rectified.

So, here it is zohaib bhai. i ve made a rough sketch, hope this somehow helps u understand. this is whats making this sound...

Paino tay parawoo, thora neray neray aawaoo, Usman Bhai Almashoor Vague_one walay kehtay hain apni kitab gtg kay sunehri asool............jidher chaar banday ajayen, gtg ho jayegi.............date koi next week ki rakh lain Sunday ki, aur venue ko majority of city owner wali city mai rakh lain, so the whole majority doesnt have to move......that`ll make people ummmmmmmmmm an aaaaaaaaaaaaaa about coming to the gtg......what say ?? Could u state the valve clearance for idsi which suits both cng and petrol
As the manual for L12A/L13A states only for petrol.

lol... auto engg was the plan, but couldnt do it due to some reasons

sadly, theres hardly any way to tune a car for the best of both worlds i.e. for cng n petrol at a time.or atleast i ve never heard of such settings.thats why tappets have to be set for cng for use on cng.
yes it is possible that they keep the clearence same... actually, theoratically, the engine should behave normally if adjusted as per the manual (even if the car is on petrol only) but there are far tooo many other factors involved.the temprature of engine when adjusting the valves n how far it is from operating temprature n soooo many other things.i remember someone on pw did his tappets as per manual and ended up screwing the tuning, so , our mechanics rely on their experience n judgement for this job...

as for ur missing, can u explain a bit more? does it stay all the time? or on lower/higher rpm or at specific speed or gears?

n theres hardly any way we can come up with a perfect reading for the valve clearence on cng ... we only have desi "jugaar" systems for cng
