What is havoline CXT?

its a engine oil
i dont know why they call it CXT, i ve never seen it written on it, infact no name is written on its box, like havo formula or cng etc... its a totally black can. no red or green stripe on its front... i ve been using it for more then a year now... 20w40 or 20w50 i guess... good enough for my car...

nice... valvoline is rated as the top or second to top engine oil in the world... its not famous here in pakistan though.... do share ur experience with us after using it...

The best thing about being non popular is that its cheap formual was available for 1900 something and I got it for 2250 4 litres. Also the filter is good got from a reliable place its taiwanese and costed me 450rs the guard one is available for 200 I think. As for the feedback I will do that.

I dont like in new city how the speedometer backlight dims when you turn on parking lights/headlights

Bro if you look in the manual there is a way to keep the dashboard light on full blow.

Okay so guys, i ve a good new and a bad news regarding my car...

The good news is that today, i FINALLY got time for compound polish and turtle color magic wax application. took me a total of 3hrs (and a shattered spine, just by standing for that long) for a body wash and compound polish + wax job.
results is AWESOME... i love the silky smooth feeling of the body now. shine is also very nice but i couldnt really witness it as it was dark by the time we waxed it. and that is why im not posting any pictures right now
In a day or two i ll wash the car and will wax it again... and then again after a week and then every week for the next 4-5 times ... only then will it retain the shine for a long time...

and now, the BAD news... i got a small dent today on the newly painted right rear door
i was in a decently wide steet, 2 car were parked on either side with just one car gap in the middle to pass, there was another vehicle in front of me, speed was barely 20km/h... suddenly, a biker (an elderly person with a kid behind him) appeared from nowhere, i turned towards left to avoid him, he went into the V shape opening between my car and the one parked besides and hit the rear door/fender and bumper of my car Thankfully, he didnt fall but he did got his hand bruised... i parked on the side, the rear bumper was hanging out but it fixed right in easily but this dent was there the biker uncle knew he was wrong, he was also overspeeding but i just let him go... what cud i ve done... the dent was already there the scratches that u see in the picture are almost gone new, after the compound ... may be i ll get it dry dented...

that DIMMED light is actually the standard for night time driving... the extra bright is there just so that u enjoy the colored display in day time too. if the extra bright stays this way during the night, that would be too much light and would disturb the driver... same feature for all optitron meters... infact the clock of my ex- khyber also used to get dim once u turn on the parking or headlights... for the same reason.

AOA everybody.
I'v joined Honda CITY comminity after purchasing my first ever CITY. Its 2006 model vario (without CNG).
I m planning to get it checked thoroughly (electrical, engine, suspension etc.) to identify the potential problem areas in advance. kindly recommend some good and reliable workshop / mechanic + electritian / dealership in Islamabad for the job. I'd b greatful if u share tips and suggestions to maintain this vehicle. I'v gone through the maintenance shedule already available in the group, its really informative and helpful.

First of all, Congratulations on buying ur new car... i ve got a 2006 city myself, though a manual one... and secondly, welcome to the thread

So, as far as ur car goes... unless there is something wrong or periodic maintainence is due, u dont need to get anything done. the only one thing that i just cannot emphasis enough is ... the CVT oil!! Get it changes ASAP if the previous owner didnt or even if u dont know if he did or not... and use Honda's original CVT oil ONLY... no other oil works for vario... its a very delicate transmission, you gotta keep it well maintained to keep it going for long... other then that, if there are any sounds from suspension, get them checked. get new air filter , plugs etc and tappets adjustment done if it needs. may be engine oil... you havent stated the mileage of ur car, im assuming its below 150k kms and since ur car is petrol driven, i'd suggest u use havoline formula or Zic A.

Im sorry i cannot help u with a mechanic, i hope some isb/rwp member will help u with that soon... just one thing, dont let the honda dealership guys fool u (they love to do that to make money) unless u or sumone u know trusts them, dont take ur car to them... most of the times they are not experts and people just think they are because of the name behind them...

i got my whole right door almost ripped off by a bike waala in faisalabad. He broke both of his legs on the spot.

aaahhhh.... the FEEEEELL... i had it today

and yaarr.. the sound "shhhhh" must be coming from generator belt. put some grease on the generator belt (on its lower side) it should go away IF its coming from the belt. but this is just a temporary fix, u need to get the belt adjusted. hardly a 5min job.

ohh.. the feel... post some blingy blingy yaar... so much waiting. use IODEX and take a VOLTARAL tablet for ur shattered spine... hehehe

Those cows just made my day. How many more cows do you have post there pics as well. As for the sounds well I would like to advise that whenever you hear an anomulous sound from your car do post the clip here so that everybody can hear it and make assessment if they have same problem or not. As for the timing chain I have surveyed the market its available at 1200-1500 but the real problem is the changing process that is difficult

yaar dont know why but the speedometer diagnostic test also doenst work every time... i tried on 2 different cars... around 6-7 times on both, it just didnt work the method is the same as for 7th gen civic but it wont work...

yaar belt wont slip... trust me... i ve done this many many times... it just needs some adjustment, the grease would lubricate it for now so it wont make the sound when it rubs with things.

@ahmadbila sad for ur nazar wattoo dent.it always hurts when someone does that. but then thats life. u had a car n only then it got a dent.what if u never had a car No car No dent! so thank ALLAH as it couldve been worser. i would like to ask the new city owners. has anyone tried to open the steering and check whether a clockspring can be retrofitted in it for audio controls????

u dont have to flush it at all... just use a good quality oil... i'd say havoline formula... if ur car is less then 150k kms driven. and if it is, then havoline CXT...

my car is 92000 Km driven originally, its a 05 model manual city, and the confusion prevalied. I would love to go for honda oil only, and honda ppl advised me k if u used zic then keep using it. I sked my previous car owner who is a broker and he thout for a second and said, zic, i think havoline, no zic, no havoline..and i cut the fone

which one in havoline do u sugegst, and which oil i can use if i want to change it after 5000km ?

my technician is asking 8,000 for the sensor from shershah and 2,500 for fitting.. he s saying k he must uninstall gatri for the sensor fitting.. i have confirm the price from another source n that is also saying k it shud be ranging between 8 to 10k.. but the gud news is sensor started working again ... i just reset the eps ecu from another scanner man ... lets c how much time it will work... i have purchase my car on 1st jan and its working fine except for the sensor issue .. believe me on every friday streeing system just shuts off. i duno y... and if sensor is dead den y it works by resetting the ecu...

Today i was in the market and somebody told me the torque sensor should be of 4000rs but he did not know the actual price because its not available in the market only available with honda dealers. If it really is a faulty sensor and is available at 4000rs. I would advise you to hit shershah junkyard and get estimate for a used kabli one I think it will cost around 7000-8000 the entire eps motor with sensors so it would be wiser to get a second hand motor.

You are absolutely right! things like these do hurt everyone but i ve stopped taking tension now. u dont keep a car for ever and even if u do, its after all a piece of machinery... thats why i just let the biker guy off.

as for clockspring thing, i dont know why anyone is not interested in it

lol... i dont know what kinda ppl forget the oil they use for their cars. i mean thats sumthing u do again n again on ur car. Just yesterday i met a brand new honda city owner, i asked him what oil u use and he said "acha wala" i said what oil is "acha wala" he said "asal mai pehle mere pas porani gari thi tou peela wala shell dalta tha, ab acha wala daal leta hon" then i explain it to him that "acha wala" is not a standard term.. there are grades of oil which u shud select from for ur car.

anyways, 92000kms is not a very high mileage and if u want to use it for 5000kms, go for havoline formula...its a reddish color oil. i ve used it for more then 150,000kms and found it to be a awesome...

oh.. good to know it started working again.. i hope it decides to stay that way and one more thing, if the sensor was dead, it would NOT work again no matter what, dont u think its some electrical linkage issue or sumthing similar? that it works when it wants and then goes to sleep... that is almost the same thing mine used to do a year ago, the i told u before too, it was just a faulty grip... mechanic cleaned it and no an error after that... i hope urs stays alive now... keep us updated...

One thing I would like to advise you is that if its safe than go to shershah on your own I know its not safe to go to shershah these days. Recently I had an experience one of mechanics changed injectors of my city he bought secondhand ones from bilalgunj and charged me 4000rs, when I went to bilalgunj myself the rate I got was 2500-3000. Although I will go to that mechanic again because he is actually a good mechanic and charges a lot but his work is awesome. The point I was trying to make is that these mechanics are inherently used to take comission i.e thing which can be bought for 3000-4000 they will charge you 5000 for same thing so do survey market for yourself. As for sensor I think its some MAULVI SENSORthat goes to offer prayers every friday and gets back few days afterAs for the scanner working again I think that may be sensor is on its last legs or there is some wiring issue do sort it because it may destroy entire system
