Can you guide me from where I can get 185/60/15 or 185/65/15 in Islamabad / Rawalpindi. I checked with Asad tyres in Sadar Rwp but they dont have it.

They are available in Lahore but I got them sourced from Karachi as the official dealer is there and I did not want to take risk on tampered tyres

Ahmad bhai,i ve made this very rough sketch to refresh my own concept and to explain it to fellow members.

meet the CVT transmission cycle i made a cycle instead of a car transmission because i ve never seen a car's tranny from inside
so, heres the sketch which will explain to u how cvt works. the total concept of shifting is absent in cvt. the prosmatec is just about the METHOD which is used to send the chain from one sprocket to another, in a way as to miminize the jerk that is normally felt. however, it also decides about WHEN and and WHICH RPMs to shift into WHAT gear for WHAT requirements. ex. when in hilly areas, it will decide on weather to shift to a lower gear or keep on accelerating in the current on etc etc. prosmatec is however, a bit advanced form of simple automatic transmission. not something totally new, like CVT.

C drive are no doubt excellent tyres. I have had them on one of my previous cars that's why opted to advan this time

Visited two shops and i'm a little confused.

Asad Tyres, Sadar Rwp....... cost of Advan DB 195/65/15 is 9500 per tyre
United Tyres Blue area Isb.. cost of Advan DB 195/65/15 is 8200 per tyre

Asad Tyres agreed to buy stock tyres for 10,000 (500km driven)
United Tyres agreed to buy stock ones for 12,000

So there is a price difference of 7200 Rs in these shops for the whole deal.
Both have tyres of 2012's manufacturing date.

Can someone guide me about the pricing. What's the catch? So far its very confusing

Bhai YAAR mil nahin rahe they Yokohama ADVAN DB as everyone knows they are short in market otherwise i would definetely gone for it have told you at that time i had only 2 options available for my CITY 2012 1. Yoko A-Drive and 2. Dunlop ECO out of which Dunlop seemed to me a bit more revealing and the person there (My father's close friend) also suggested me to buy DUNLOP...He was saying that they are great tyres...70-80 hazaar kilometer chal jayenge aapgi gari par!!! So i did what he told me to!!!

Sir im not saying u made a bad choice. dunlops certainly are very good tires. availability is another thing, i was just talking about the quality and comparison of both. i myself have pathetic tires installed in my car n the reason is that i HAVE to buy tires from one of my dad's friend's dealership, regardless of whatever crap brand he recommends, i have to get it some day, i ll be a rebel n will get some fresh yokos shipped over from isb or lahore

Ok this particular design is without TQ but there are multi layer clutches and hydraulics based acceleration system which allows creep and can easily smooth the kicks.

What is my concern that some people do claim that their cvt city is ok on CNG. So how it works for them. or they are lucky that their cvt remained ok.

either they are lucky. or they keep their cars very well maintained. so the rpms stay VERY stable... cvt usually lasts 70-90k kms easily even on cng.

No brother, only the city idsi had cvt transmission. no other car in pakistan has/had cvt in it. the only car with cvt other then city that i know of is nissan maxima.

Make sure that tyres are Advan db V551 (original n distributed by Shaikh Brothers Karachi) not v550 which are smuggled and no warranty. Also check Tyre manufactured date. Buy only fresh. I just purchased 185/65-15 @8750/Tyre. In Lahore as per Ahmad bhai these are available @8500
OEM will sell @12000/4-tyres.

yups....advan db v551 is the ones we should be looking for.....185/65 is the most suitable size for the new city (as per my understanding) as the car does not have braking and grip issues, therefore 195 would only result in more fuel consumption and wrong meter reading. otherwis, 185 is god enough for this car. for a corolla, i would recommend 195

I've finally decided to go for ADVAN DB 185/65/15 for Honda City 2012
185/60/15 is not available at all. Even 185/65/15 has to be sourced from Karachi (either through Asad Tyres or Directly from Sheikh brothers)

I bought one from Accessories and Parts in Pakistan - Free classifieds at Dekho.com.pk but yes this is beautiful!

yup... still have it... running great... has done 60,000 kms in 3.5 years... has only given one problem: at about 45000kms, the rear defogger stopped working... other than that the car is running awesome! (Y)

my steermatic 2006 is leaking a little oil. every morning i found 3 to 4 drops on floor.

after getting inspected mechanic says axle seal is leaking oil and its leaking transmission CVT fluid.

Can you tell me what is the cost of getting axle seal replaced?
