Question: When i start my city 06 in the morning or in the evening after office, i hear a sound of liquid, flowing and splashing. After the engine is warm this sound is not noticeable. Is it the sound of engine oil? is it normal to hear that sound? I thought that i might have filled engine oil beyond upper limit so i drained oil by opening the filter and now the level of oil is a bit lower than the top marker on dip stick.
Further my car takes more than 2 minutes to get warm, i.e the Cold engine light take 2 minutes to go off after cold start, is that normal????????????????????

I also noticed this type sound in our City 04 , like suction of a liquid when accelerate it after a cold start or when its started after a long period of time so must be from the cooling system

well after failing to find a mint condition city idsi despite my best efforts, i have finally purchased a brand new city ivtec m/t with titan interior today....fortunately it now also comes equipped with a center console with handrest...the interior seems to be somewhat better than before and the suspension seems to be bit softer than the 2010 one....i will post the pics 2morrow...untill then just a teaser

Sorry for not replying to ur query. actually just a day or two ago someone ask me the very same question n though it was you, n that u wanted opinion from other members.
anyways, sir, the rule of thumb is, never touch anything that is working fine or doesnt need to be changed or u are satisfied with. cars sort of get tuned to the engine oil u use with time n thats why its not usually recommended to change the oil grade or brand so often.

having that said, zic yellow one is Zic hiflo, 20w50, its a heavier oil n its recommended for older cars with more mileage. are u the first owner of ur car? r u absolutely sure that the mileage is original? if yes, then u SHOULD be using havoline formula 10w30. 20w50 for a newer car n that too in winter is too much punishment for the car. n 5000kms drive is also too much. thinner oils usually have longer life. i use 20w50 havoline n change it at 3000kms max.

Now its totally up to u, if u feel that the car is fine. dont switch the oil. if u are willing to take small risk of may be falling rpm etc. take the risk. but make an informed decision and once u take the step, stick to it.

I think in knocking engine putaka marta hay, but not in my case.

no thats not knocking. that would be back firing from the air intake. bad ignition coils cause that.

One of my friend share his experience that he is driving his city i-vtec in double top(5 gear) keeping 2000 RPM (speed around 70 kmph) and vehicle on motorway pesh-isd and back with business visits in rwp and isd (trip around 500 km) in just 17 to 18 ltrs total cost.
My question is that driving (on 2000 rpm) such situation will be good for engine performance ?

No problem at all Doc , keeping in situation of hydro carbons in Pakistan , you need double top in lot of things

there are two types of bulbs used in the center panel. 2 larger ones and 4 tiny ones. cant say if led would fit in the holder of larger bulbs but wud certainly not fit in the small bulb holders. i ll post a picture of the larger bulbs tomorrow. price, well, 10rs but for OEM ones, 300rs

no it wont harm the engine in any way. but remember, DONT drive the car on RPMs below 1500. cruising is okay but pulling away from very low RPMs can put extra strain on the engine and also causes carbon buildup in the engine if done for a longer time.
btw, 500kms in 18ltrs sounds too gud to be true. that means the mileage would be above 27km/ltr. I ve heard max 21-22... may be its true but hard to believe. City is such an awesome car when it comes to fuel economy...

Hello All (sorry if I am posting this on wrong place)

I have Honday City 2007 20k driven only. I need information about really GOOD tyres. Currently I have Singa.

I am very frustrated right now as I used Dunlop and Singa but still not satisfied. Car is bumpy and I can feel even a smallest up down on the road and on cat eyes it give me really pathetic feelings.

Any one who can suggest me with his experience that what tyre should I use in city for comfort and smoothness?
