Aoa all .. I m going to buy city 2009 from silver clr, Ist owner , isb registered (2 Digit) , 60k mileage and no spray in whole ride also incl Alloy rims , LCD etc. The guy ll ve giving me in fnf 13 lac. Please advice is requested.

I went to buy second hand but price difference for one year old vehicle was only 30 to 50 thousand of invoice. So i decide to buy brand new.

Very much satisfied till now only driven 416 KM and tunning after 1000KM shall be made after Eid. Advise for buyers go for brand new if your are heading for 2012 or 2013 short driven vehicle.

Yarr as from day one I know, U R very good at Attaining Efficiency with the Economy! Actually im going for Major Tune up of my City i-DSI 2008, What would U Recommend me for Following:
1.Best Engine Oil for Both Efficiency & Performance
2.I've Bought Plugs NGK BKR6EGP, Platinum Plugs,Whats Ur Opinion
3.Does HONDA Engine Oil Filter have some effect or others can also be good

Mainly Other Essential tune ups U Recommend?

bro if u fill up the tank to the top and go on long route, lets say on GT Road @100 km/hr, the needle doesnt drop one bit till 100 kilometers of drive. when i reach jhelum from pindi, needle is still at top. its only after that that the needle starts coming down. this pic does not show the linear fuel consumption. if it does , then according to this theory, ur car wud run for more than 750 kilometers in one tank

My last i-Dsi gave me 750km in full tank some time ago. My drive is not like total highway it has lot of start stop and singals on the way. So, still early days to guess about exact mileage but i guess it will give 16kmpl+, where i-Dsi was giving 20kmpl

Its 2011 ivtec, drove very little. Fuel is mostly Total as i hate every other single brand given a choice. For the air filter i change every 4000 km, and air filter has to do a lot with fuel economy.
Engine oil is Havoline Formula 10W 30

Just take care of regular periodic maintenance and everything will be ok. In my case, i m alone driver in home, so car is settled with my way of using.
Engine oil is Havoline Formula, plugs should be genuine no mods, air filter guard is ok, oil filter i used Leppon.

True. At half tank my idsi takes 3.2 litres of patrol to top it up. That meams needle at half means nearly around 14 litres of patrol tank.

Thanks, I am trying to break in my i-Vtech and looking for some tips. It has done 4K right now and is giving me between 375-425 in one tank. (I normally refill when the reserve light shows up. It nearly takes 30-31 liter of petrol to auto full mark).

i hope it will get better after the 1st oil change due next month.

16 plus is good enough a mileage and can be managed, but within a City like Rawalpindi where there are traffic signals every 200 meters, its next to impossible. yes in islamabad its very much manageable as the roads are wide and signals are far apart. the best i have been able to get within city is 14.5 (with AC). on long, 20 is manageable from here to Lahore @100 km/hr. well i never noticed how much my car wud run in one full tank, but all i know is that from the fill in pindi to the fill in Lahore, the car did exact 20.1 km per liter, which i think is excellent, so i guess yes going by this formula, it might do plus 750 plus in one fill, but if the car is driven ONLY within Pindi, even 14 is achieved with a lot of efforts.
by the way which air filter are u using. the wet one or the dry one. i m sticking to Honda Oil because the car is under warranty

i dont think u need to break in more than 1000 kilometers, 1500 max. yes, one should otherwise try to rev slow and low but thats true for any mileage of the car. so dont take too much tension, and drive it to ur pleasure and enjoy it will automatically get to its max best pretty soon

If condition is good. I mean well maintained. 13.5 is a fair price for it. Though i ill suggest you to spend bit more and go for a low mileage car.

The 1st oil change per the city manual is supposed to be at 5,000 km or 6 month mark. The 1st service is supposed to be 1,000 km or 1 month mark and that is largely just a visual inspection with tightening of a few bolts etc in the suspension.

After that every 5,000km or 6 month mark the service is due with various things mentioned to be verified and replaced etc in the manual.

Per the Manual
Oil Change: Every 5,000 km
Oil Filter Change: Every 10,000 km
Air Filter Change: Every 15,000 km

Please let me know if I am mistaken.
