Always take these readings with a pinch of salt. City's odo km/l reading is not very accurate sadly.

the sugns are not good, guage is always better as you can see if the engine is heating up, while the signs of hot and cold are of no use, by the time it turns to hot, it is too hot

Once i forgot to close the radiator cap of my 2004 city. Drove all noon on a hot day without any issue. Eventually after 2-3 hours of drive the engine switched off on its own. Opened the bonnet topped up the radiator and went home. In the longer run 1-2 years later i had to get the head gaskit fixed. The point is Honda city engine is very robust, engine heat up is v rear unless you screw up big time.

temperature Guage is a must because it let's u know that car is going to heat up, just a light says it's done now get gaskit fixed

anyways please let me know how much 2009 model would cost
and if I should go for it, how's the maintenence cost etc
since I'll be spending atleast 14 lac on it to buy it
m sure it would be driven no less than 150,000km

No idea about the prices, other PW can help. City is an awesome car, you would love the drive and boot space etc. Its totally worth the money. A well maintained city will give close to 16 on long routes if you keep rpm under 3000 i.e 100 kph. The avg in city traffic is also fine. 13-14 type. Good luck for the purchase.

city at 100 on motorway is too slow
so at 125 i can expect 14-15

Honda BRV-S rpm goes up while turning off ignition and little jerk is feel, and this happens on hot engine after driving when ac is off. With AC this problem not occur. Also no jerk or missing while accelerating.
RPM is 800 but while I turn off ignition it first goes to 1000 and than turn off with some jerk. Only driven 3100 KM

I dont know why people believes in meter average.
I just tested with 2 tank to tank on new city, same petrol pump and same Nozel even and in-meter avg was being shown 16.5 first time and 16.8 second time but manually it came out to be 14.4 and 14.5

I had gli as well it also tends to show 16 to 16.5 but manually calculation always gave me 13
People are happy seeing in dash average

I 2nd that. City's average meter is off by 2 km/l. It's always about 2 km lower than what it says. But the new Alto's meter is pretty accurate. If it says 22.5 then manual calculation is always very close to it like 22.4 or 22.6.

People blindly follow odometers average reading. Har 200KM baad tank full karwayen gai but will believe that their city is doing 17km/l
