Seems like an overuse of dashboard cleaners. Personally I don't like to use anything on dashboard and haven't used anything except a damp cloth since 2016 on my city. Someday I will send a pic for ref. To solve this problem visit some good denter there is a special paint or spray for dashboard which has matt finish, just like the original one. Ask him to spray this portion only. Should not be much of a problem.

I've driven over 70k kms with the first set of disc pads. Next one ran for only around 40k Kms. its City 1.3Aspire 2012 Manual although the next one were OEM too.

I don't think it's an overuse of chemicals. You just suffered at the hands of Honda...this defect was there and it had to come out eventually.
I would suggest you to get the paint matched and give it little touch up yourself. It will blend in hopefully

A damp cloth cannot bring back the blackness on this dashboard. Your dashboard must be whitish black by now. A good protectant does not hurt the colour AT ALL .

2 oem sets changed at 50k kms. Third one is almost KAPUT as well.

i agree bilal bahi. I believe it is there on the left side front line but then i thought i might be too much wahmi about it and left it.
Im looking for a good painter with good paint spray machine so that i can get it touched. Really a heart broken thing for me.

100% agreed, that's why I said I would share pics for ref. Not spraying any cleaner on dashboard is another extreme. Somehow mera dil nh manta is lye abhe tak koi product use nh ke.

This is common problem in Honda City. My new 2017 city after being driven for 40k kms had this issue on left side of dashboard.

In the picture, it did not looks too much. So at the current stage painting, the dashboard will affect the resale of the car. I would suggest leaving it as it is and take care of the future that it did not spread to other areas. However, you can consult a good dash repair person if he can polish it without spray. They use a rug to polish the dashboard like furniture polish. Just a few touches of polish can be sufficent.

A Honda workshop guy told me always get the disc tooling done when disc pads are changed. Does one need to tool the disc after changing the disc pads even if the disc doesn't show any signs of wear due to bad disc pads?

Right sir. Im going to take care for rest of the dashboard patches. Im also looking for a good dashboard wala person who can touch it. As the paint has faded, i dont think so polishing will make an effect. Nonetheless ill look into it after ramadan and this covid third wave.

No. he is misguiding you. unless the discs have developed grooves, do not touch them. check the discs yourself and be aware when you enter the den of thieves called dealership!

Second that, I have made a habit of buying the part itself online (Parts central, pakwheels, etc) and have a mobile-workshop guy on my phone list, i.e: if I need brake pads replaced i'll just buy the part and schedule an appointment, saves me an entire day of stealership as it can be done right outside my office within half an hour, Satisfaction and peace of mind is my top most priority now.
