So,guys, i was out of city for a few days.went to bahawalpur on my idsi a few days ago.left home at 6.30am and reached bhwlpur at 12.30pm. 360kms in 6 hrs... road condition after kabirwala wasnt good and tooo much traffic.anyways, i roamed around in bwp for some time and found it to be a beautiful city.i never expected it to be that developed, nice and clean.atleast the major roads are excellent.
same day, left for multan and stayed at uncles place for the night.next day at 8am, i woke up, had to drop someone at nishter hospital.just when i reached the parking lot of nishter, the clutch bearing gave up it was the same bearing that came with the brand new car, that means it had completed 192,000kms while the clutch plate had 82,000kms on it.after waiting there for some time, sitting in my car with a/c on,a rescue car came (corolla indus :P) and i got my car towed 8kms away from there, to a mechanic that my uncle trusted completely.work was started at 12pm.it took them around 4hrs to open the gearbox and found out that the dead bearing also caused the clutch plate to burn
i got the clutch plate (3600rs) and bearing (1150rs). work ended at around 10pm and i was NOT completely satisfied.there were 4 problems.

1) Gears werent shifting smoothly
2) Check engine light was glowing at all times
3) Gear oil was leaking (figured that out next day)
4) The self starter was turning but it wasnt touching the flywheel so engine wasnt turning (this slipped the next day,on day 1,it was fine)

anyways, when i reached back to Sargodha, problem 1 (hard gears) was gone as predicted by the mechanic.he said as the pressure plate is not changed, it will take some time to adjust.after 350kms,it did.

The other 3 problems were fixed by my own mechanic.
a clip of the exhaust sensor was loose which caused check light to glow.
the gear oil drain nut wasnt properly tightened which was causing oil leak.i got it tightened and then got 0.5ltrs of oil refilled.
one of the nut of started motor wasnt properly tightened (damn that guy, all problems because of loose nuts :@) and everything was back to normal. now my car is perfect once again, Mashallah

All of this was caused because of my own negligence. The bearing was giving a very faint noise from some time but i still had a lot of life left on clutch plate.the job of opening gear box was too much for me to get done only for a bearing and then again for the clutch plate after a few months.My mechanic said that noisy bearings can last for thousands of kilometers so don't worry.But it did'nt.

Moral:-
NEVER ignore ANY kind of noise coming from the engine.try to narrow down the problem and get it fixed as soon as possible.Never delay change of such necessary parts as they can make u stop anytime anywhere.

Things would have been worse if this bearing had given up somewhere near bahawalpur on the desert road.i would be more careful next time.

well, sounds like... kkhhhhhssssssssssssssssss....
if u just touch the clutch slightly, the sound changes or disappears or gets louder.if u press the clutch completely, it disappears.
And yes, inshallah we ll meet whenever im in lahore next time

Denso ND16 are almost as good as OEM ones.i dont know the price of OEM plugs.would be around 250rs i guess.

as for accelerator cable, yes, change it.but the clutch cable, i ve got bad news for u there is NO clutch cable in idsi.its a hydrolic clutch, operated by oil.so if the clutch is hard, it CAN be an almost dead clutch plate.the procedure of changing clutch plate is a very long and tiring one.would take 4-5hrs atleast, cost of clutch plate + pressure plate + clutch bearing is around 8500rs and labour is 2000rs.
i hope its not the clutch plate in ur car thats faulty.

Apart from the clutch being hard there is no problem nor any extra noise and gear shift is also smooth plus release is also ok only sound is that when the clutch is pressed sometimes a cheen sound comes when the hood is opened its the sound that used to come from older cars like mehran etc when their clutch cable becomes hard and it goes in mehran after lubrication and clutch also becomes soft. What is the colour of good clutch oil the one in mine is almost of black colour

Is the clutch engine in the red circled container the oil in the container is very black should it be changed or not

that "cheen" sound is very common.u can ignore it without any worries.but there is NO clutch cable in city.u see that small cylindrical oil bottle besides the brake oil bottle? thats the clutch operation oil. though u know it but a few people mistake it as transmission oil.clutch oil of my car is almost like veryyy dark green.i ve talked to many mechanics/oil gurus n they say u dont need to change it as theres a possibility that air can be trapped inside the clutch lines and that will cause problems.dirty oil is acceptable because its not being used as a lubricant or anything.its just used to transfer energy from point A to point B.

I bought my Honda City AT 2011 about 2 months back. Current meter reading 3890 and HONDA I-9 told me to get first oil change after 5000Km. Should i wait till it reaches 5000km or should change it now.

u better get it changed now.changing oil at 3000 kms is the best thing u can do to an engine.5000kms is acceptable but it can hurt the engine in long term.

I think the moral of the story is to change the Clutch bearing when you are changing the Clutch Plate. What do you say? Because the cost of clutch bearing is not so much as compared to the cost of clutch plate and labour. Plus it can give you a very difficult time on long routes, specially when you are with family.

@ 5000 they do some sort of "Computer Inspection"; I might be wrong but I think these new cars ECUs gets adjusted to the driving styles. This Computer Inspection has significance importance.

I suggest for new car owners to get the lubricant changed to some synthetic one @ 1000. These synthetic oils are good for 4000Kms. Use it upto 5000. In this 1000 - 5000 your car will get adjusted and by the time of 5000 inspection everything will be settled down. The only issue with synthetic lubricant is that there is no going back; once you have started using them; you should continue to use them.

You got off very cheap with the clutch thing, actually my rides clutch bearin starting whinning way back when the car was around 60k....just a couple of weeks ago around 95+ it finally gave way. Only during the process of engaging the clutch would it start it`s dhamal. So yer mechanic was right it does run thousands before giving way. When i got my car to Honda, literally got my shocks paying the bill....pressure plate,clutch plate, bearing and gear oil changed cost 26k....working fine now though.

What is written in manual about clutch lubricant replacement because brake oil is also replaced so I dont see any problem in replacing clutch oil if done by honda
