issue came up the next day when i bought the car - bought on 10th May 2024 - had brakes throughly done, this issue resolved 80% or more. however, this intermittent reoccurrence is a real pain as it can be so dangerous anytime! hoses, calipers, pads, disks, cylinders in brake system are all checked 2 times and there seem be no issue.

bro this is a superb article and very well explained. I am a proud owner of a steermatic and am more than happy with it. Previusly i owned an iDSI manual and that was amazing as well.

Sure every car has pros and cons but city overall is a best buy for Pakistan!!

I need a family car in a 45-50 lakh budget. Mostly drive is within the city and a long trip of 2-300 KMs once a month.
I have previously used a Honda City Aspire Manual 1.3 2015 model from 2015 till 2024. It's engine started to sleep oil after 87000 KMs.

My options are:
1. New Toyota Yaris Facelift 1.3 GLi CVT
2. 2017 Civic (very difficult to get a clean / authentic car with genuine mileage)
3. Honda City 1.5 CVT (non aspire). There is a good car of 2022 model driven 30k in clean condition. Asking is 46.5
4. Toyota Yaris 2022 1.5 top variant /, driven 28k. But asking is 51 lakh.

Kindly guide what is a better option for me.

following is done once on saturday:

flushing of complete brake oil with dot-4 fluid

re-check of calipers, pins, brake hoses, pads

braking have definitely improved after new brake oil and all this work, however, my intermittent issue of sudden brake pedal hard and car sharply moving towards right is still there - and as discussed before, this happens say just 2-3% of times and when i pump pedal, or turn off car and restart it, it goes away and pedal becomes normal with good braking power back. is this brake booster or what? can brake booster stop working all of a sudden and become ok itself?

I did buy the honda city 1.5 non aspire. Driven 31k. My observations are,

Good mileage on long route 17-18
Within city 12-13
Within my residential colony (speed limit of 40 and many speed breakers every 2-300 metres) 8-9

Doors don't lock very solid as was with previous generation city
Suspension is stiff
Engine response is very good
Steering has some play

Bro doors are much more solid than previous gen. They also have three stop levels which are very very helpful in close parking.

City 1.5 cvt is much faster and powerful than yaris. It stays head to head with oriel until 80-90. Long cruise control at 120 gives me 16-17. In city I get 14 without too much idling.

guys i cleaned the Throttle body by directly spraying the carb cleaner after removing the air piping.

issue before was a bit fluctuating RPMs. my issue resolved - however - i am experiencing higher RPMs now when car is cold and also car moves on its own when it is in gear and accelerator is not pressed. is it a calibration issue as hondas require it after TB cleaning? i havent disassmbled the throttle, i just cleaned it with spray - no connectors were taken off.

car is a manual 2016 1.3

If idle rpm are more than normal then rpms can be set by loosening the Star bolt & slightly turning tp sensor on a side on which rpm reduces.

thanks for the reply. i believe this method is not valid for the electronic throttles of Honda as the solution is only software re-learning.

yes, i went to a guy yesterday, he charged Rs. 1000 and did an excellent job. he took out throttle, thoroughly cleaned it and refitted. used his x431pro scanner for idle relearning which took nearly 12-13 minutes with radiator fan turning ON many times during the process- the results are Alhamdulillah WOW. rpm is fully calibrated as per Honda Specs and i am feeling the change. issue resolved

Tp sensor method is valid for electronic throttles , no issue in it. TPS has same function in fully electronic/partial electronic throttle bodies. But one should know how to do it as diy

hmm. but i believe the best and genuine solution is software relearning for Honda. i can really feel the difference with AC and without ac - as it is done as per factory specs.

That's good if your ride has attained factory spec throttle but it all depends on how the owner perceives the things. Carry on. All the throttle position sensor does is that with change in position of throttle plate in tb, the output voltage value of TPS changes and it is signaled to ecu, so your mechanic only recalibrated from software end for which he took 1000 Rs

My Honda City 18 trunk opening torsion bars/wires have become very loose from last 1 month. Upon opening the trunk to the max, it doesn't stay there and comes down immediately it has injured my head couple of times in last 10 days. Mechanic says it has 2 wires and these cannot be bent or pulled, so no juggarr except kabuli spares etc. I have installed a namda carpet from last 4yrs, mechanic says to remove that namda carpet and then expect the trunk to stay upright.
Please guide any solution.
