Honda city fuel average

AOA PakWheelers, I’m facing the fuel average decreasing problem...So I bought new Honda city 2021 1.5 prosmetic in January and at that time it was end of the winter and Ac of the car wasn’t used before... This is the first season of summer for my car and Ac is being used constantly whenever I travel and on Ac the average is constantly decreasing, it seems to be like the average doesn’t maintaining or at every km it keeps decreasing .. mostly I drive the car at the speed 45-50kmph not more than that and rpm remains at 2r/min and I drive the car smoothly by just touching the accelerator, not pressing it with pressure; however the sign of Eco mode also displays when the speed and rpm is maintained at a certain level but it doesn’t increase the avg besides that it only keeps decreasing. I’ve only driven 700km since I’ve purchased...??

This is fine, it takes some time for the average to adjust, until you reach 2000 kilometer mark then it will be more accurate.

Fuel average does decrease in summers due to use of AC. Eventually the average in my new city went from 15km/l to 13.9km/l in stop and go city traffic. This is inclusive of the fact that I drive light foot, try to save fuel by coasting and not rushing to the signal when I can see that it is red.

Not to mention that its prosmatic and the fuel average will be a bit lower than that of manual variant of the same model.

2000 for that I’ve to wait for too long xD, anyways if its confirm that thereafter 2000 miles it starts to maintain then we’ll see.. thanks alot brother

average increases with use provided you don't drive with a heavy foot. The first 1000kms will be the break in period after which you should ideally send your car for inspection to dealership.

TBH the fuel average of Honda City is pretty much fed up. Meter always showed me that I’m getting only 10.8 while actually i was getting an average of 13.

Does this mean that there is some issue with my 1.5 prosmatec? It’s avg is 8-9 with 90% AC. It is used for short runs of 3-5 km per trip. Usually no long trips.
I use tank fill up method to calculate avg.

Exactly In my case the situation is same as yours my car is also used for the short trip , but once I decide to take on a longer route like 20-22km its avg never increases in a good reading, the avg just 0.2-0.3 increases.

So how come you know that meter reading is not the same as you calculated?? By which method you calculated?maybe that’s the same reason I’m facing..

These days schools are closed. When I was doing school runs (20-25 km) it creeped up to around 9-10 per tank. In fact this is the last few avgs per tank so one can see. This is my workhorse car (96K km driven) so gets only usual maintenance from Honda 3S, like oil change and air filters on their recommendation. I have stopped getting the 'idle relearn' that they kept telling me to do every 5K km.

Mar-21 8.52 km / L, 7.94 km / L
Feb-21 8.13 km / L, 8.77 km / L
Jan-21 8.91 km / L, 10.08 km / L
Dec-20 10.08 km / L
Nov-20 8.54 km / L, 8.49 km / L

Just went back in the app history and saw some avgs from Oct / Nov 2018, they were between 9-10 km / L.

Simply by just dividing the KM’s driven by the Number of litres used.

Honda city calculates the fuel average just by the instant average. Which isn’t reliable at all.
