Honda City i-dsi Steering and Transmission Squeaki

Hi all,

Small problem with my City 2007 vario. When I turn the steering to the left I can hear this low squeaking/whining type sound. Also, when shifting gears in the auto transmission I sometimes hear this low squeaking noise from somewhere near the gear shifter. I suspect it's just a case of some parts needing oiling. Question is what do I tell the mechanic to do? This problem only occurs some times so I don't think I'll be able to reproduce it in front of the mechanic.. If I could just go to him and tell him exactly what to do, it would make my life a lot easier..

Any suggestions?

ur transmission should be as quite as dead.

if u hear the noise when u press the brake pedal, than thats the gear knob unlocking to allow u to shift freely between P R and D.

if its some other noise, than i have no idea, i hope ur car is not CNG'ed

get CVT oil changed from honda after every 40K kms

Car is not CNG'ed and has done only 18000 kms so no question of CVT oil change.. like I said, its a short squeaking noise as if something needs to be oiled.. and its definitely not the click that happens when the brake is pressed

Anybody else!??
